Titleist Seam Issues?

Our range borders the 9th hole. Plenty of people slice their tee shot into the range.
 
I bought some Srixon Tour Yellow that were brand new, but 3 years old. All of the balls were discolored, I mean the whole ball. I washed them with a toothbrush and soap and most of the discoloration came off.
