Installing a new shaft in a Taylormade R15 3 wood head that I purchased on Ebay. My question is: the suggested length after tipping and cutting for overall length from butt end, should this measurement include the adapter or do I cut for overall length without the adapter installed? Thanks.

install adaptor first. without epoxy if you want, place in head. put club on bench ruler. cut from butt end last.
 
OK, have a little patience with me guys. Newbie at this. Calls for 42" length. Do I cut the shaft to 42" and then add the adapter or measure 42" overall with the adapter attached?
 
I believe TM 3 woods come stock at 43.25" so I would imagine the shaft WITH the adapter length should be 42" once it's in the head it should add about 1.25 making it 43.25"
