I just don't hit them well. Impulse buy at a good price and they never could beat out my forged tours.

Jman is on the cusp of saying they are the best irons heís ever played. Virtually nobody that has tried them has disliked them. Maybe you find something you like better, but I think youíd be making a mistake if you didnít at least give them a look /try.
Oh they'll definitely get a try! As far as jacked I'm referring to the old set of TM speed blades I have in my garage. The 6 iron plays to the same specs as the 5 iron in my cobras and my TMBs

Hit the Srixon Z785’s! They’re fantastic!!!

Recently I’ve played the 765’s, 718 AP2’s, and Cobra King CB/MB’s. I prefer the 785’s to all of them, they’re a little smaller than the 765’s and AP2’s, but a little bigger than the Cobras. Definitely the softest feel out of the lot of them. Srixon took everything that was great about the 745’s and 765’s and put them into the 785’s, they really knocked them out of the park.

The sole of the Srixon irons is also second to none and helps more than one would think.

Awesome! another vote for the Srixon moves them up the list.

I'm still trying to get a handle on what you want. Your OP had four criteria and the first three I'd categorize as a specific look. The fourth was standard lofts, which you later defined as "not jacked". Then you eliminated one make/model saying it didn't have a good feel. Then in another post, you suggested appearance wasn't all that important if the dispersion was great, which was the case on a past set you owned. So, I still don't feel like I've got a good handle on what is important to you.

Otherwise I have rotated P790's and the Forged Tours. While the 790's are just awesome on the soft greens and lush rough back in the midwest, I find the Forged Tours more accurate from basically hard pan and extremely firm greens where the extra spin of the FT's helps quite a bit. But I have not left them behind and imagine they will be my primary set again when I go back home in May.

Here is a review I am doing on them. Went from a GI iron to the Wilson V6 irons. They are a great feeling, usable club that I think most skill levels could handle. Not sure I could sell you on them, rather give you a very nice option.

I kind of love this thread... Mostly because it introduces the passion golfers have for their equipment.

It's been a really fun read.

Good to hear you are playing some of your best golf these days, Peter! You should combo up a set of irons like the Srixons - blades through the 7i and 765s from there. You could do the same with Bridgestone as well. These would fit your requirements perfectly.

Get down to TX so I can see this golf game first hand!!!!!! I will buy the drinks.

I believe the V6 irons check all the boxes you are looking for. I game the V4's and love them!!! Very traditional lofts, thin topline, little to no offset, forged, launch easy, workable and they look sharp
