Jman- you have experience with the ping gmax driver. How does it compare to it?

    Played Max all last season.

This for me in stock setup spins similar, with the changes I made itís lower spin than I saw out of my Max last year.

Ball speed wonít be as high as a driver (though itís closer than 3w for me) and it simply cannot be as forgiving as a 460cc head. But, thereís more playability packed into it than I expected.

Itís not going to be a driver replacement. But, itís also not intended to be.

Still interested in this thread, and why it may be an ideal option for me.

Iíve played the second driver before, and it general itís more accurate than the long driver but not by a huge amount.

Just checked my stats for the year. Now Iím using shotscope sparingly but think thereís enough data to provide trends.
    Fw %: 47 with driver, 89 with 4 wood, 100 with heavenwood.

P-avg (itís probably ~5 yards longer than a solid hit would average for me): 252 with driver, 224 with 4w, 218 with heavenwood.

My swing with fairway wood is much more reliable, but leaves me short in comparison to driver. I hardly ever hit 4w off the deck.

A mini playing at 43Ē makes a ton of sense, in that I should be able to swing it similar to a fairway, but shorten the distance gap between driver and hw.

Played a round today and pulled the mini out on a 270 yard par 4 dogleg (super short). Drove to the back of the green and made an easy birdie. Playing tomorrow and may have to use it a lot more.

I was thinking the same thing about Beags. I think his butter cut would do well with this little ball ping hammer.

I hit my assist pros a few times and itís fun. The ball launch high for me. But it gave me fits when I tried to mash it off the deck.

It's certainly not as easy off the deck as I would like, a perfect lie is a must. I just got my Tensei Orange CK for it late this afternoon. I hit it briefly on the range and I'm thinking this shaft fits me extremely well. I'll report back after my round tomorrow.

I need a new shaft for mine in a bad way. If I swing super smooth the stock shaft works, but I don't always swing smooth lol. Maybe drop in a Hzrdus smoke 70 or would love an AD IZ like I have in my driving iron.

I hit one if these a couple times on the simulator locally. I think it was 11.5į and I can't remember the shaft. It was alright, but I don't see me going that route.

I guess I could see using it and a 4wd. If I had the perfect shaft in it I might like it better.

Got my 11.5* with EvenFlow White out to the range for the first time this morning. I'd say it performed exactly like I was expecting it to. I didn't have a launch monitor, but it looks like it was a tad longer than my G400 Stretch with a more penetrating flight, but of course shorter than my driver. Hitting it off the deck was no problem for me, but that has never been something I struggle with. I sometimes even hit driver off the deck to if it's very windy. I forgot to bring a tool with me so I only hit it at 11.5*, but I think that's pretty good for me. I'm going to try it in a lower setting though.

I tried all the new drivers this year and loved the sound of the TaylorMade M5 and M6, but had more success with the TS2. I think it came down to me preferring the EvenFlow White over the other stock shafts. But I'm really digging the sound of the Original One. So muted and solid. Much nicer sounding than my G400 Stretch and I prefer it over the TS2 as well. I think it looks nice with more black on the crown too. Overall it just has a very confidence inspiring look to it with the medium size head, shorter shaft and lower tee height. Think I'm going to be really happy with it.
