I usually adjust my swing to either a 3/4 or half depending on the distance. Honestly never really ever tried choking down, but makes a lot of sense, especially when I am in between clubs. Have had a lot of occasions on a par 3 where I need to go back the 2 club lengths at the tee box and still either need to hit an easy 7i, or hit the best 8i of my life. Tried choking down on a 7i last week and did notice the ball was a hair shorter. Another tool in the bag next time I go out!
