If you enter hole by hole, then yes, but if you just put in a gross score, then it doesn't, unless I am missing something

Always remember, the same country that invented golf and called it a game, invented bag pipes and called it music.

If you hold people to a high standard, sure there will be those who do not adhere to the standard. Yet, the standard still sets an expectation we encourage all to meet. In this way, golf is a great game to teach good character and has been noted for doing so.

Most other sports create an adversarial roll where you have officials of one type or another that enforce the rules. This quickly devolves to where players are expected to try to break the rules to gain an advantage, but not get caught. This teaches poor character and low expectations.

Sadly, our game is quickly devolving in that direction.
it is one reason that, even when playing un-enterable rounds (read "solo"), I adhere to every one of the rules and if a question comes up I take the less advantageous route. Figure if I practice with integrity it is nut simple to play that way.

Of course, I do the same...

I hate seeing people just taking drops all over the place but I get it, they're playing to have fun.

The biggest thing I've been focusing on is any time I am in a new "penalty area" point of entry in line with flag, that one always gets me as you have to come to a consensus with your playing partner where exactly it crossed.
