I was at the 2016 Ryder Cup as well and my biggest take away was the limited field makes watching much more difficult than a being at a regular event or a Major Championship. I had a great time but certainly wouldn’t want to be there for all three rounds. Hazeltine is one of the most user friendly courses in the country for spectators which is one of the reasons they host major championships including the LPGA Championship in a few months and the Ryder Cup in 2028. Whistling Straits unfortunately is one of the least friendly courses for a spectator and I’m guessing can only accommodate half as many people as Hazeltine. That being said, I’ll still likely go if I get tickets.
