Let's assume we are speaking about dinner only here, and there are 7 meals per week. What is your ratio on eating out vs cooking?

In 5 out 2

I think my family is a 25/75 split. We cook more than we go out. But there are weeks/weekends that every meal comes from a fast food joint.

We used to be 3-4, but trying to tighten the belt on our wallets so it is more like 1, sometimes 2.

We probably eat at home (cooking our dinner, not take out) 5 out of the 7 days. Friday and Saturdays are usually reserved for going out for dinner.

6 at home to 1 out for us.

Right now, my ratio is 4 out versus 3 in. It's actually something I'd like to reverse this year, maybe even going to 2:5 if I can accomplish that.

4 to 3 I hate to cook but my wife does some!

We (mostly my awesome wife) cook 4-5 nights a week.

We cook dinner at least 5-6 times a week. Eating out in this area gets pricey real quick for 4.

On average probably 3-4 or 4-3 in to out. Sometimes it's all 7 in, and sometimes more out, so it averages out to about that.

Out 5 in 2. Would really like that inverted as it would help with costs but sometimes with work it makes it difficult

As a single guy? Out 5, in 2. That ratio is changing, closer to out 3, in 4 now.

I work evenings, which means I eat at work.

I would have to say 5 /2 as well

We eat out maybe once a week ...

Cooking 5 meals, left overs and out one night

Eat out once per week with the family. I average about 2 others times per week because of work travel. But I would much rather be home eating my wife's terrific cooking those 2 times.

2 in 5 out. It's just me and my wife. Sometimes its 0 in and 7 out. It cost us $35 to make tacos last night. Eating out would have been much cheaper.

We eat in about 4 nights, out about 3. Sometimes it's reversed. It doesn't take much of a reason for us to eat out.

6 to 1, eat at home.

This is about where we're at.

Eat out 1
take out 2-3
home cooked 3-4

So about 50:50 if your looking at cost. Take out really doesn't cost much more than a home cooked meal if you know how to find deals.

Right now I'm a eat at home 7 dinners a week with maybe 1-2 nights a month of eating out

Well I have a 2 year old.........so the only time we get to eat out is on a date night, which is not very often. 1-2 nights a month out sounds about right.

5 in, 2 out on average. Some weeks are chaotic and it's almost all meals on the run, but those weeks are few and far between anymore.

Maybe once per week. Some weeks we eat all meals at the house, others we may go out once or twice.

If my wife is out of town, all bets are off as I don't like cooking for just myself.
