So while playing todays round, had a ball end up on the bunker. The issue though was where the ball came to rest, it was in water in the bunker, enough where the ball was fully submerged.
What would be the ruling on this? Can relief be taken and a free drop in the bunker not closer to the hole?

That was last Labor Day. Surprisingly, they let carts on the course, but the front nine was closed. We played the back nine twice - the second nine barefoot.

Hopefully find a dry spot in the bunker to play from, not nearer the hole, for free relief.

Otherwise it's one stroke from outside the bunker, tough break but thems the rules.

I've been wondering this lately as well with all the rain we've had the last couple weeks.

ive always understood you can take free relief. nearest point of relief in the bunker no closer to the hole.

Rules interpretations aside, bunkers are meant to drain. If it’s not draining it’s damaged. If it’s damaged, it should be ground under repair.
