It was never in your face or rubbing it in. They had players who have dreamed their whole lives of scoring in the World Cup and they did. I’m not going to tell them they can’t celebrate.

I think when it’s all said and done the rest of the group will play Thailand so who knows what that goal differential will be.

It was tough for me to watch some of the US goal celebrations ... considering the scoreline. You do want the game to be celebrated and you do want to see players having fun but at the same time I thought some of the celebrations were a little overboard. A few seemed planned out and I do know some players spend a lot of time thinking about celebrations for the fans. It’s not always necessary. We haven’t won the World Cup yet.
haven't won the world cup yet, haven't even played a second game (one could argue haven't even really played a first game)

Japan with a 2-0 lead over Scotland right now. This is the Japanese team I expected to see against Argentina their last match out. #7 in the world and they are playing like it today. Scotland looks over matched and confused on the back end right now.

I missed out on my first opportunity to watch the U.S. Men play in the World Cup with my boys when they didn't make it in. I'm trying to get them to watch some games when the time allows, but 3 1/2 year olds only sit still so long haha. Glad you can share this with your girls! It's great to see the younger kids get into watching soccer, and to me, the best is seeing the U.S. national team take the field on this grand stage!

Chile is 39th in the rankings so not exactly an offensive powerhouse. They have to try and defend their half and counter attack when they can and it’s not worked out.

That being said, this is the deepest USWNT we’ve had ever imo. They are playing some cohesive soccer and have anyone on that bench that would be immediately starting for another county. We are #1 in the world for a reason and I think they’ve shown it in the first two games. Not exactly facing world beater opponents, but they need these games to build confidence for the knockout stages. Sweden as the final group stage game will be a tougher test and that’s when we’ll see what the defense is made of.

They put a beat down on Thailand, but they did let a goal slip by. They also were sloppy against Chile until the end. Kinda hard to tell how the US will play against them, but I look forward to the girls bringing some heat.
