So here’s my little project. I had some comfortable Mephistos (Marlon) in black that we’re getting too worn for dress anymore, but they were still in great structural shape, being goodyear welted and having good uppers, so I decided to repurpose them for golf.
First thing was a resole. Took them to a cobbler and picked out a good tread pattern by Vibram, and the cobbler did his thing. Played a couple rounds in them and they worked great.
Second, a new paint job. I wanted them to be like my old black and white saddle oxfords I had way back when, so I bought some white leather paint and while I was down with the flu this week and no energy for anything more, I painted the shoes. Turned out okay I think!
Here’s some before and after shots and the finished job too...
