I don't feel any responsibility to "grow the game." I enjoy playing golf, the sport, the guys I play with, the BS that goes along with playing with the same golfers over a period of years. YEARS ago I got a co-worker into golf. It was a mistake because the guy was a nut case on the course, and no matter how I tried I couldn't get him to stop acting like a jerk - profanity, loud voice, little consideration for others, slow play, etc... It ended up that no one would play golf with him anymore.
Now, at the age of 71 all I want to do is go out and hit the ball and relax. I think the game is growing fine, as I see many younger golfers at my course (sometimes too many).
