anyone can help with ballooning irons. i think to much spin. using rifle 5.0 shaft, the ball feels very solid off the face, but the ball just goes straight up
by changing to a mid flex shaft would that help
thanx

Are you hitting down and taking a divot/compressing the ball? Depending on my setup and whether or not I am sweeping the ball, I can get a shot that balloons occasionally.

it could help. or hard-stepping could help too. there are some shaft profiles that could help like c-taper, project x and steelfiber.

hitting down and compressing and taking a divot thinking of pxi 5.0 or xp 115's

If you are hitting the ball properly (slightly down on it with a divot in front of where the ball was) and it is still ballooning, the C-Taper from KBS is supposed to help with that.

If you're hitting down on the ball properly (most of the time) then I'd look at C-Taper as JT suggested or I really like the feel of my Project X shafts.
