Recoil 110 Proto F4. I also appreciate the 125's but I have better "feel" and head tracking in the lighter shaft.

Recoil 95 proto f4 for me - was a modus 105 guy prior. The recoils perform like the modus for me but the wear on my body is noticeably better.

    DG TI X100.

I could play X7, C-Taper 130X, KBS Tour 130X, or PX 6.5/7.0. I like the feel best on the KBS Tour, X7, and X100, but I have to be on point to get my yardages out of X7. X100 has a longer track record than KBS and the KBS Tours had an issue with the tips bending with hard use a while back. The C-Tapers and PX shafts feel differently to me. Not necessarily harsh, but definitely stout.

That being said, if I went through another fitting and found something to really outshine the others I wouldn't mind making a switch.

    KBS C-Taper 120

Why? Only because I was fit into them.

Not sure I'm enamoured with them.

I have a nagging sense the 130's may be a better fit.

I "feel" more accurate with them---but followed the fitting numbers in the end.

I am 100% graphite in everything. I mostly have recoil shafts with SMACWRAP Blacks in my irons, 95s in my Cobra wedges but I do have the Cleveland Rotex graphite shafts in my Cleveland wedges. I play graphite because I have really small weak wrists and the steel is just too harsh on my body for the amount that I play. I also really enjoy the lighter weight and the ball flight I get from the recoils.

Feel wise, I'm not a big fan. They still perform well for my swing type, but I feel like I'm giving up a little bit of distance and a lot of feel to the Recoils/protos. That said, feel is totally subjective.

This seems like an appropriate topic with the graphite challenge coming up. Im one whos never had graphite iron shafts and always played steel but Im open to the idea of switching if theres truly a performance benefit.

I'm not a good enough player to pick up the subtle differences between iron shafts, but I usually find success with a steel shaft in the 115-125g weight range. Favorite at the moment are the Tour Issue DG 120 S400s.
