Nothing but Recoil here. Really like the 780 ES SmacWrap F4 shafts that are in my current and previous Hogan sets. Also really like the 95 F4 model.

Nippon Pro Modus Tour 120 currently. Fit into these at the Grandaddy. Super smooth but still stable enough for a pretty aggressive transition. Before these my favorite was the KBS Tours. Around 120 or so seems to be the weight sweet spot for me.

    Graphite: Steelfiber 95
    Steel: KBS Tour

Those will likely be my go-to if I have the option. I have been using Catalyst 100 graphite this year and I like what I have been experiencing with them. Modus 105 would probably be my runner up in the steel category.

I have been playing C Taper 120 in SLDR irons for a few years but just recently switched to M3 irons with Steelfiber 95 S. I'm still adjusting to the lighter weight but I like the way they feel and it seems like they are longer, especially into the wind. I used to get more ballooning into the wind but these seem to cheat it quite a bit more for some reason.

A good and timely topic. I was reading about graphite shafts last night. I have arthritis in both hands, shoulders, neck and back. I used to only have a lot of pain from either playing a couple of days in a row or hitting a lot of balls a few days in a row. Now, I'm noticing it more and more after a single round or range session and am looking at options.

Currently, I play the KBS C-taper 120s in my irons and KBS Hi-Revs in my wedges. In my old irons, I had Dynamic Golds S300s. I played graphite in my irons for nearly 20 years prior to that. I had the Titleist stock graphite in some DCIs. It took a little getting used to but I grew to like them. I can only imagine the advancements that have been made in graphite shafts for irons.

For those who've switched from steel to graphite, are the clubs noticeably lighter? What have you noticed about trajectory and accuracy? Any other differences?

I do notice that the clubs feel lighter, but I don't know that it's really changed my swing as much as it just feels a little easier. My trajectory with the Steelfibers is still high but I hit it high with any shaft. Directional accuracy with these is point and shoot, I think once I get used to the distance they will be much better for me than the C Tapers. As I said above, these M3/Steelfiber 95 just seem to cheat the wind more than my SLDR/C Taper 120.

I played KBS C-Taper Lites 105 for quite a few years, so there wasn't a big difference in weight for me going to Recoil 110's and then to 95's. It was the stiffness in my elbow that improved though. I do play the stock steel in my SM7's but can get by with those 3/4 swings with out issue.

for years played Dynamic Gold x100...last 2 iron sets ive gone with PX 6.5 and love them. I really want those blacked out PX's now

In fittings ive tried a few different KBS shafts and didn't care for any of them.. Also took a chance and put $-Taper's in my wedges, hated them

I am curious to try Recoil 125's tho

PX LZ is my pick. I'm a fan of KBS as well. They are smooth, but the Project X LZ is phenomenal for me.

I think I found my new favorite irons shafts this year: Recoil ES 780 SMACWRAP in F4. All I have to do is remember to put a smooth swing on them, and they do all the work for me. Plus, they look great contrasted against chrome satin heads.

I've been using Nippon Modus 3 105 and really like them. I'm dying to try some Recoils at some point but unfortunately can't justify spending the money right now.

Dynamic Gold on my wedges, graphite for the rest of my irons. I don't really notice a weight difference between my new irons over my previous set with iron shafts, I guess it's all in the balance.
