    Call Me Weird: Second Hand

Popped into the mall as my wardrobe is in need of a refresher after a decent weight loss. Saw some great shirts at Nordstrom’s and reminded me why I always buy second hand clothes. Travis Mathew, while a beautiful product, is grossly overpriced at nearly 90 dollars a pop. The same can be said for almost all golf apparel.

I routinely find FJ, Peter Millar, and Polo RLX golf gear on eBay at 85% off retail , sometimes even with tags on them.

Call me weird but second hand is the way to go.

I have bought some stuff like that as well. I also know when our local high end department store has deep discounts on the stuff I like and I hit up TJ Maxx and Steinmart regularly to see what they have. Keeps me looking fresh for less. I paid less than $30 for 90% of my golf shirts.

I probably need to start doing this, as everytime I buy a new shirt, the first thing I do is put a stain on it :)

I would not recommend buying underwear second hand. Everything else I am cool with. Shoes are a no for me also.

Costco or Sam's, both will routinely have Callaway, Greg Norman, or PGA polos for under $30 (among others), and I've seen Travis Mathew for under $50.

I just got a Turtleson polo from a random ass CC with its 95 dollar price tag on it for 11.00 with shipping... best deal on eBay ever. They make nice stuff, it’s one of the lead people from Peter Millar who left and started his own digs.

I can't do second hand, it seems gross to me. I will look for deals though or buy from online outlets.

I’m with you. I refuse to pay retail for most golf clothes.

If the tags are still on, do you consider it second hand? I’ve bought plenty of clothes off eBay like this with no problems.

I agree with a lot of this. Unless they're having a sale it's hard for me to justify a lot of what TM sells, but you can find good deal on their stuff on Ebay from time to time.

    You do you!!

I usually go for the lower brand name stuff over TM or FootJoy.

Whatever it takes for you to enjoy yourself, go for it I say! I'll usually look on the clearance rack at my local golf shop, or the outlet stores. Most of my Travis Mathew shorts came from Nordstrom Rack at half off.

If I see something I like in stores, I usually try to find it online. Usually golf stores online, eBay and even Amazon have the same stuff for fraction of what you see in stores. Plus, you can always find coupon codes online to save you more money. Passing up on a $90 polo... that's what people with common sense would do so you're not alone!
I bet you out of that $90, it cost Travis Matthews 12 bucks to make and the rest, you're just paying for the name. haha
