Would love to have a forum about Oklahoma golf courses. Many people that live in Oklahoma play golf, and having a place to discuss reviews of venues and new spots would be great.

Welcome to THP!

I think you just started the thread you were hoping for. There are some great THPers from your state - you've got good company to chat with and get out and okay with.

I'm not in OK (close in the Texoma area), but I have played a few rounds up there. The Winstar GC is fantastic, we had a DFW THP outing there a couple years ago, great courses, club house, and fun. The course at Beavers Bend is really cool too, very scenic and cool elevation changes.

I played LaFortune this morning. The course is in good condition and pace of play was a little slow...around 4hrs. I lost a few balls wet, even tho water only plays on a few holes...lack of concentration is always my miss

I played Indian springs today here I Tulsa. Great facility and course.

Welcome to THP

I have also played la fortune, battle creak, south lake, Paige belcher.

Where in OK are you?

Played Cedar Creek about 18 months ago, and will be back up there this next week.

Welcome to THP!
I've played quite a few courses around the Tulsa area. It's been quite some time since I lived up there, but enjoyed the course. I was just getting into golf back then, so maybe some really aren't that great, but I still enjoyed playing.

I've played a couple courses around the Tulsa/Owasso area with my BiL. Hope to hit a couple more next time back out.

Welcome

I've only played the two courses at Oak Tree in Durant and Karsten Creek in Stillwater.

Welcome

.....Karsten Creek in Stillwater.

Extremely jealous, both from the golf standpoint, but also because I'm a lifelong OSU fan, and would love to play where so many Cowboy greats have recently played.

It was great, I was invited by a vendor for an overnight trip - good time.

I've played several courses in the Tulsa area with a good friend who lives there.

Most at of the time we play Cherokee Hills at the Hard Rock casino in Catoosa. The 1st 5 holes on that course are a beast BTW.

There's some surprisingly good golf in the state.

We have some gems on the pricey or private side like Karsten, Oak Tree (all of them), Southern Hills, The Patriot, Shang-ri-la, Cedar Ridge, Hillcrest, Dornick Hills, The Territory, etc.

But, there are some really fun public tracks too. Lakeside in stillwater, LaFortune/Page-Belcher/Cherokee-Hills/Bailey-Ranch and many others in the tulsa area, and then there are also a ton in OKC like the Lake Hefner courses.

Tons of solid golf courses with a lot of challenges, contrary to what some might think.

We should play sometime, feel free to shoot me a PM anytime.

I'm looking to try to get a round in tomorrow morning in OKC... Anyone going out that could use another player or can recommend any good courses in the area?

Does anyone know if The Patriot still opens a tee time a day to the public? It used to cost like $150.

No idea, just give them a call. But, if you can get on, do it. It’s an amazing course.

Living in Oklahoma I’ve played a lot of the golf courses in state and surrounding. I’m currently living in Tulsa, OK and I’m a member at Tulsa Country Club. A few of my favorite are Southern Hills, Karsten Creek, Oak Tree National, Gallardia CC, Tulsa Country Club and Oklahoma City Country Club.

Would be great to revive this thread. I'm down in the OKC area. Just moved here last August and I've played a handful of courses around here, but nothing "great". Both Lake Hefner courses, both Lincoln Park courses, Kickingbird, Silverhorn (closed now), and Cimarron National in Guthrie. Would love to get out with some THPers in the area. Might even be willing to drive to Tulsa if everything works out and if my game ever comes back to me.

Chickasaw Pointe is outside Durant and a fun track.

Kickingbird is a fun one too.

The Golf Club of Edmond (Formerly Fairfax) is fun.

Lakeside in Stillwater is solid, the CC is better if you can get on.

Firelake in Shawnee is a bear now that the tribe put in 6.3 million. Such a fun course.

The Territory in Duncan is amazing.

Tulsa has a lot of good courses. Some you can get on, some you can't (looking at you Patriot).

There's lots of good golf in OK outside the Karsten, Oak Tree, Southern Hills, groupings.

So, when are we gonna get an OK event going? Plenty here in OKC. I can make arrangement and take the lead if we wanna do it around here somewhere. I'm willing to travel for the right course if others want to play somewhere else.

Heck, between Cedar Valley and Cimarron National, there are four 18 hole courses. We could do 36 on Saturday and 36 on Sunday. If we get a decent size group and commit to playing all four courses, we might be able to get a decent deal.

Really hope I get the call to play patriot again this year!
