I haven't see one of these threads yet, so forgive me if there is another one of these.
We all have done it. Maybe you're online, looking at iron reviews, or maybe the Edwin Watts catolougue comes in, and you see the fancy new 4 piece titanium driver that everyone is talking about. You start thinking, man, I want to put that in my bag... And if you're OEM Kevin, you do. But if you're anyone else, you probably practice some restraint, and go along with your business.
Well, what if you had unlimited funds with which to procure your dream bag? What would you get? Why?
Go all out, pick everything down to the brand of tees you're using if you want. But most importantly, tell us why. What is your thought process when choosing between Titleist and TaylorMade? Did you go for aesthetics, or raw, brute, ugly performance?
Oh, and don't pick "trophy" clubs. That means no Williams Black Diamonds or any other gold plated nonsense. Custom putters, bag, shoes, ect are fine, just as long as they are meant to be used, not looked at.
Oh, and dont worry about whether or not you have demoed it, this is a hypothetical thread, not a real shopping list.
Here is mine.
Driver
Fourteen Golf JC-909
Why? Mainly, because the thing is absolutley beautiful. Also, based on THP's testing the thing is really accurate, and that is exactly what I need. I would probably re-shaft it, to a Myazaki that fit me, again, because of a combination of looks and performance, and would put a white grip on it.
3 Wood
TaylorMade R9
I love the aesthetics, and the adjustability could really help me out on one of those many inconsistant days.
Hybrid
Adams Idea Black
In keeping with the theme, aesthetics once again helped this one. That, and the fact that it is recieving rave reviews, praising its performance.
Irons
Titleist AP1 710
Once again, aesthetics. I love the redesigned cavity insert, and the fact that Titleist is renowned for the quality of their products, makes this one easy. I also love the way Titleist is making a Game-Improvement club. Sorry Cobra, but ya'll are a little too wild looking for my taste. I love the clean lines on this set. I am actually planning to be fitted for a set.
Wedges
Cleveland CG15, black pearl finish, 52, 56, 60* lofts
Can't argue with what is supposed to be the single best performing wedge out there. This almost lost to Vokey, but I went with superior technology over aesthetics.
Putter
Miura 1957
Beautiful to look at. Plain and simple. Plus I have always been a blade fan, And it would have been really boring to say Newport 2.5.
I would wrap all this up in an Ogio Kingpin Cart bad in their Petrol colr scheme.
Well, thats my stuff. What about yall?
