Beautiful course Jimbud. Looks like a lot of strategy/lay up/not driver off the tee.

We have some nice courses in my area but nothing as stunning as that.
My home courses look a lot like P4Bs. If I make it out sometime this week I'll snap some pictures... but I doubt I will :(

Thanks, They aren't all this pretty but this is a hell of a place to live if you like playing golf or fish. The Quarry course is rated in Golf Digests top public courses every year and was built in a reclaimed iron ore mine just south of Minnesota's Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Superior National as you can see from the photos is right on Minnesota's North Shore in Lutsen. I've only played it once and now that I have a idea on how the course is configured I can't wait to get a chance to play it again. The Pines at Grand View is right down the street and is just pure heaven. If you play the Pines and your driver is acting up, leave it at home.

I was concentrating so much on my (new) iron play that I only remembered to take one picture. Here is the view from the tee box on #3 at the course I play most often.

It's one of the easiest holes on the course at around 300-325 depending on tee and pin placements. It's a par 4 with unseen bunkers guarding left, front, and right!

Light poles I think but it does look like wire fence... I have only done a gas and go in Incirlik, heard nice things about it though

Yes there is a barbed wire fence. I should have got a pic of the Turkish soldier with his rifle guarding the fence. That is the perimeter of the base you see in the background.

Up in Washington it has been raining like crazy. So I have not been golfing lately.

I know you all think it always rains here. Really it just sprinkles a lot. No down pours. But lately it has been raining cats and dogs. And a lot colder than usual.
