require a great deal of care/oiling to avoid rust?

Absolutely gorgeous.

Just like Black Oxide will wear off, the protection of a torch finish will wear off. I have been told, but not verified, that Harbor Freight carries a protective coating that only requires spraying every 6 months. I have a torched carbon, it is about 4 months old, and I have not oiled it at all yet. The oil that we quench the head in helps to protect the head for somewhere in the range of six months. Most people that torch air quench(not good) or water quench(basically tempers the head) we quench in oil.

Two newly finished Yaupon's with a No.9 Heel Shaft Hosel and a Black Polymer Coating.

Love the holes in the hosel on the second to last one.

Those are some great looking putters!

Those look great!

After fooling around with the cheapie mini-mallet that I put together last week, I'm really growing fond of that shape of head, and the little bit of extra weight (the one I put together is 304 stainless, 405 grams)

I'm kind of putting together a 'wish list' for a custom putter after viewing all of these...

we have a satin antiqued brass polymer we should be testing in the next couple of weeks as well.

Gold is money! (Pun intended.)

Here are some pictures of that golden gem, after the paintfill was completed. She is traveling to her new home with a gloss black shaft that absolutely screams to be shown off.
This is one of my favorite finishes that I have applied, to date. Sitting on the workbench, it screamed at me every time I walked by. "SHOW ME.....SHOW ME!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Enjoy the pics, and as Chris stated, we have a more subtle version of this finish that will be posted very, very soon.
Thanks,

Wow, Lamont, that thing is a gem. The "1 of 1" is such an awesome touch. As if the golf finish didn't scream "special" enough, that just adds an awesome touch.

i love the milling on the face too

Here she is getting ready to go out.
