This summer I've been playing a lot of the Columbus munies. Airport is right around the corner, and Champions is an amazing Robert Trent Jones layout from the 30's. Airport is $16 to walk after 4pm any day of the week, Champions is $24.

Charlotte Country Club, private, built 1927 by Tom Bendelow, (East Lake, Medinah among his gems)

Balmore Golf Club, West Dumbartonshire, on the outskirts of Glasgow.

Tom Morris designed parkland course, par 66, short and testing. No par 5s, and no easy birdies on this one folks!

Play twice a week at The Dunes in Brooksville, FL. Arthur Hills design and very challenging. Maybe too tough for me at my stage in life.

Empire Lakes , Rancho Cucamonga

Play there 1-2 times a week during march-Oct

Bradford Creek GC in Greenville, NC...Its a muni course and pretty inexpensive but allows me to work on my game

Technically, Hendricks in Belleville NJ is the closest course to my house, but I've been playing Pinch Brook in Florham Park a good deal recently. It's about 10 minutes from work, perfect for twilight golf.

My home course would have to be Links at Riverlakes its about 5 minute drive from my house and outside of the country clubs here its the best public course and the rates are reasonable too.

Prestonwood CC
54 holes

Located in San Clemente, CA whose town slogan is "World's best weather" this is an amazing place to call home. I travel the world in my profession and with the possible exception of Hawaii I can't think of a place with consistently better golf weather. We do have to endure our 10 - 15 days of rain each year, and long pants are required for 2-3 weeks out of the year (but not every day) when playing golf, I can say that this place does truly have the worlds best weather.

I love to offer myself as a host should you find yourself in the area and are looking for a great test of golf!

I've been living here in Las Vegas for 4 years and I've never played the same course more than 5 times. If I could have one course (that I've played before) it would be the place of my first ever high school job back in celifornia.
Green Hills Country Club: http://www.greenhillscc.com/Club/Scripts/Home/home.asp
IF I had only one thing to say why it would be my home course: Its an allister Mckenzie design. Every green there has a vicious false front. My worst golf memory is there where I hit in order: Driver, 7 iron, putter, wedge, wedge, putter, wedge, putter, putter. (My temper was nuclear then but now I look back on it and laugh.)
Most people don't know about this one, he's more well known around northern california for pasatiempo and cypress. But Green Hills is a small gem. Its a shame that i've heard that the group that manages the CC is a bunch of idiots. I still have friends who live in the area and two are members. (well both are currently trying to sell their memberships) They both tell me that there is a good chance the CC is gonna go bankrupt. And that scares me that a course with such a prestigeous beginning might be bulldozed over in the future for more over priced houses.

My home course is awesome Gold Mountain Golf Course, they off two great courses. Check it out if you ever visit Washington state.

Ken-Wo GC, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I still consider this my 'home' course although I haven't played it in a couple of years. My father and I used to drive an hour out of our way to play this one. The locals nicknamed the final 5 holes Death Valley due to the shallow geography, high temperature due to low wind below the hills, and because final three holes were the by far the most difficult on the course and have a tendency of destroy otherwise good scores. Years ago when I was still flirting with breaking 100 for the first time, I managed to survive 16 and 17 unscathed and was lying 90 on #18. I then choked in epic fashion and finished with exactly 100.

Classic course in Minnesota--it's too short for the big hitters of today's game, but still a great challenge for the players who still consider most par 4s over 400 yards to be challenging. Poa-Bent greens make for complicated reads throughout the year, but it's been in better shape lately than it's been in a long time. And it's affordable, which is nice. I hope someday they renovate it with some back tees and a modern clubhouse, but it's got charm.

My home course Northview G&CC. It's a 36 hole complex with the Ridge course playing host to the PGA Tour's Air Canada Championship back in the late '90s and early 2000's.

It's a solid Arnold Palmer design, always in great shape and the practice facilities are tour caliber.

New Mexico Tech Golf Course here in little Socorro, NM. Fairly tough course with small greens.

I would have to say the Charleston Municipal Golf is my "home" course, fun, but the ole lady can really put it to you some days. Greens are not receptive 90% of the time, but with the amount of rounds played there every day its understandable for the greenskeeper to do so. My group like to play all over town and Charleston National is our 1st choice, and Pine Forest, and some weeks I can get everyone down to muni.
