Lately I have been playing golf in minimalist shoes. Both vibram five fingers and new balance minimus. I absolutely love playing in my new balance shoes lately and am hitting the ball better than ever. I tried to go back to my traditional eccos this weekend and did not play well. I didnt feel as balanced and connected to the ground. While this is just a feeling and not a scientifically proven it seems to effect me....especially with my woods.

The reason im posting is because im looking for a minimalist golf shoe that doesnt look ridiculous. My vibram five fingers look like ape feet and my new balance are bright orange with reflective silver accents. I golf with clients a lot and want to be professional.

Has anybody every used these? http://www.truelinkswear.com/

Are there other options out there i should check out?

The pair in black with small orange accents looks good. If they wern't $160 I'd have a pair right now, but I have Foot Joys and I'm cheap. I have the Fila Skeletoes (Fila's ripoff of Vibrams?) and like them, but haven't ever worn them golfing. Instead of 5 toes they put the last 2 together so there are just 4 toe slots. This is good because it helps protect that pinky toe from jams/breaks, etc. They have a thicker sole than vibrams but still offer the "connection" to the ground. And you can find them for around $50. Here's a pic:

Those Vibrams really freak me out for some reason. Interesting idea, but they look weird.

My best bud plays in a pair of the vibrams and loves it. I now refer to him as monkey boy

I finally got some Vibram KSOs a month ago, and have golfed in them since. They may look a little funny, but I find they are the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn, and my feet never get sore or tired wearing them. As an added bonus, one of my problems on the course is a habit of trying to hit the ball too hard, and wearing these keeps me from doing that because if I do I just swing around like a top and look like an idiot. For some reason JB's link to the True Linkswear shoe just kept redirecting me to the homepage, but I looked them up online elsewhere and read the discussion thread and they seem like they'd be a good compromise between a minimalist shoe and a proper golf shoe. Will have to try some out the first time I see some.

Ive worn my Vibrams golfing many of times and I love them.

I have the ones with super tread though.
