Figured I would start this thread for the 9 lucky THP'ers that got selected for this incredible event. I know Wilson Staff and THP are going to blow our socks off.

Right now, we just know that we will be busy Friday and Saturday with the guys at Wilson Staff. Below is the itinerary for what we know thus far:

Itinerary
Friday morning - Wilson HQ Tour
Friday Lunch - At Wilson HQ
Friday Afternoon - Wilson Innovation Center/Iron Fitting
Friday Evening - Group Dinner
Saturday Morning - Range Product Testing Of Wilson Staff
Saturday Afternoon - Round of Golf w/ New Irons

I would imagine alot of us with be coming in Thursday and leaving Sunday. I figured we could discuss extra rounds Thursday for anyone that will be in early Thursday and/or Sunday for the folks who might be leaving later Sunday.

Once JB and GG post up the hotel they'd recommend, I will update the thread and we can discuss rooming options and all of that good stuff.

Personally, I plan on flying in Thursday mid-morning. I will be up for an afternoon round Thursday as well. I also will be renting a car, so I am more than happy to pick up some take some folks to the hotel with me if they are flying in around the same time or what not.

Here's to all of us attending to have a blast, learn a ton and represent THP incredibly.

Also, if anyone is close to that area and can recommend a course for an extra round Thursday, that would be extremely helpful.

I will PM you with a list...

I am going to get the earliest morning flight on Thursday morning that I can. I want enough time that, if there is a problem with my flight, I can grab a rental and still make it in time. I am not missing this.

I'll fly in Thursday morning or early afternoon and depart mid-day Sunday. Might be able to squeeze a round before.

Sounds like we definitely will have enough for tee times on Thursday. Once we get the hotel information, we will figure out a good course that is nearby.

I will be driving down from Madison, so I could skip out of work early and head there for a Thursday afternoon round as well. I am always up for new courses 'south of the border'.

Lots of good discussion going on via email.

Once we get the hotel that they have "lined up" for us, we will make our decision on lodging and all of that good stuff.

Why?
Isnt the event about THP & Wilson? Why not have the discussion on the actual forum that is hosting the event?

The email chain that we have going is about getting to know a little about the history of each person going. We did that simply so that it did not clog the thread up. Basically a little back drop on each individual.

Ummm great...
Love setting up killer events to make sure the conversation heads elsewhere. :alien:

My mistake... I did not think folks would want to read about when we took the game up and our families. I thought this was strictly in regards to the event and that's it.

I will be flat out honest, we and the companies would much prefer all conversation about the event be discussed in the forum. We want to get to know you guys too, so do the companies. Last year Wilson learned a lot about the guys attending their event and did a little some special for each person based on their likes. I am not saying they will do that again, but anything is possible, and it sure would be nice to have that conversation done here and not via email.

Just think of it this way...you lucky 9 ARE the event now. Look at what happened with Legacy. All those threads about peoples journeys leading up to it. Nothing is going on with the event itself right now, so anything going on with the participants is what is fun to follow with the lead up to it. It makes the events more personal and makes it more fun to follow along with.

Since several of us have never met... I figured it would be appropriate to give a little back drop on each of us! I will start it off.

Little back drop on myself. Brian Sanford aka "Sanzabar". Little nickname that was giving to me about 10 years ago by a close friend. No idea where it came from or means, but it has stuck.

I am 30 years old and I am in the mortgage industry. I am a AVP for a local mortgage company in the Richmond, Virginia area. We specialize in Reverse Mortgages. I am a newlywed (September of last year) and I have a 2 year old son. He is a spitting image of me and he is my pride and joy.

For my golf career... I picked this silly game up about 5 years ago and started taking it serious from the first day on. I was awful then and I am close to awful now. I am EXTREMELY competitive and I hate being bad at something. That is what fuels me to play this game. I take lessons periodically and I often leave them thinking way too much. I honestly love the game and my best friends play, so we have a blast whether we shoot 100 or 80. All in all, good to get out, have a cigar and be outside.

Outside of golf, but staying sports related... I am a diehard Colts fan. My life literally revolves around Colts football... I have not missed a single game in 11 years. It is probably the only thing outside of my family that I enjoy more than golf. So, if you are a Patriots fan... we know you will pencil whip your scorecard. The team is full of cheaters, so we know the fan base has to be. HA! All in good fun.

#YourProto -> I am going to be arriving mid-morning Thursday, around 11am or so. I plan on renting a car as well, or will hook up with someone and we can split the car rental. I will be alone all weekend, so I am free to do just about anything. I have been to Chicago, but it was YEARS ago. Also, I am all for rooming with someone as well. I will split the cost on that too.

Really looking forward to meeting everyone. Let's make THP proud and make this event the best one year. Still has not sunk in, that we are 9 lucky THP'ers that are going to be treated like Rockstars!

Good way of thinking about it - I'm beyond excited and I'm ready to share as much as possible with THP!

Lots of new faces in this event. It's makes following the live event more interesting if we feel like we know the participants a bit as we follow along.

And really the same for the guys who have been here a while as well. There are many new members to the site who may not know as much about you guys as some do.

It's great for everyone who follows the threads for the event to get to know you guys too. Lots of new names in the event and it's nice to get to know the ones involved.

Posted this is the other #staffproto thread but here it is again!

I’ll give you a brief description of myself and feel free to do the same. That way we can get right into drinking beer and watch the colts on that Thursday night in October .

Dave Derkatch aka “Rusty Casino”. I live in Kelowna, BC which is in the heart of wine country in BC. I have 2 girls ages 7 and 4. I’m 43. I’m an airline captain for WestJet airlines. I started golfing seriously almost 4 years ago. I was in Hawaii golfing with a friend on a nice course and made an ass out of myself. From that moment, something snapped, and I’ve been addicted ever since. I’m down to a 19 HCP which is okay for the amount I play but I hope to make great improvements this fall as my youngest will be in full time school and I will lots of extra time to practice and play. I’m taking lessons and really just working on coming inside and having soft hands. I tend to choke the club pre impact.

Anyways, with regards to #staffproto, I arrive Thursday at around 6pm. My wife is coming out Saturday night and we are going to tour Chicago for a couple of days.

Looking forward to meeting you guys.

Another Airline Captain!! Man you guys are some serious players...ha. But I guess your schedules and access to travel make it perfect for golf.

Serious players..... I wish. Like I said I'm hoping to be serious this fall when my kids are all in school. Nothing like #staffproto to get the ball rolling!!

By serious I really meant get out a lot. HA...as everyone knows the moto for THP events is to finish #firstinfun which I'm sure the Wilson guys and ladies will make sure happens.

I haven't figured out my travel agenda quite yet but eventually will get to it. I just can't wait for this once of a lifetime opportunity and will make the best of it. I will make sure the camera battery is charged. Also the chance to share my thoughts and performance on these clubs Will be fun and entertaining

Makes sense. I think many of us first timers have no real clue about the proper etiquette with regards to posting in these events. We will all be seasoned vets by the time #staffproto is completed. My suggestion is to perhaps include a brief description in the initial congratulatory email about the event conversations and where it should be directed. I definitely know now.
