What's the weirdest thing happened to you on the course today?

KB,
New rule. We need to have a camera crew following around OG at all times.

I believe I could get rich with some of those videos!

Welcome to my world there stud puppy :D.

Anyways yesterday I had a shot I had to literally stand on my toes to avoid standing in a trap, which would have caused the ball to be too high for me to strike solid. I manged to hit a really beautiful shot from this weird toe hanging shot with heel dangling off the edge of the trap. While fully admiring this shot walking back to the cart, I slammed into the cart not realizing it was parked so close. Nearly knocked my fricking cap & glasses slap off my head. I did cut my lower leg/shin on the bottom of the cart. The bad thing is KellyBo was laughing so hard she almost peed all over herself. :bulgy-eyes: She had tears coming out of her eyes while I was standing there cussing the cart out for being so blame close :beat-up:! I did have a birdie putt which I slid by the hole and came out with a par. That was the first time a par caused me a dinged up leg and bruised lip :alien:

Don't feel so bad. A few months ago I was walking back to the cart admiring my tee shot at a par three and walked right into the divot sand box. This isn't one of those green plastic ones with the lid on a garage sale sign post. This thing was decorative concrete, filled with 50 pounds of sand and the legs must have run a foot into the ground. IT DIDN'T MOVE. The bruise on my shin didn't show up for a week. I can still feel a little indention on my leg where it hit, and its still tender if you press on it.

This isn't recent but I used to be a caddy so I've encountered lots of interesting things - from a bum stealing a flag from the hole we were currently on to seeing 2 playing partners going to town on each other with golf clubs....

However, one of the more interesting things was when a cicada was stuck in a golf hole and scared the sh*t out of when I bent down to grab the ball out of the hole...hahahah.

I hit the same tree twice. Very frustrating but at least I laughed.

Old lady drives 238 yard par 4

Old lady drives 238 yard par 4

So I'm playing 45 today, my first 18 two older ladies in late 50's range from Canada get set up with me
One of the older ladies is a player
She drives a rain soaked 238 yard par 4
Has 2 birdies on back 9
30+ years playing I've never seen a woman drive a par 4
First one to do it is almost 60
haha
Cudos to VAL from Canada

I told DawgDaddy to quit being a drag queen :zdance:while playing golf in Canada :banghead:

Oh heck! I knew when I saw old ladies it was probably going to be someone my age!

Never underestimate the "old" ladies!

So when did the "old ladies" show up? Everything is relative, and 50's looks pretty darn young to me! LOL

I'm in my fifties so I was picturing someone in their 80s.

Several years ago I got hooked up with an 82 year old woman for couples night, I figured no way we were going to have chance to win but that was okay as her husband had died 8 years earlier and all her friends that played are pretty much gone, she just wanted to get out one more time for a couples event and I was more than happy to help her do that. Turns out she can still play straight down the middle all night and could have parred/bogied nearly every hole, but we had to putt around the hole a couple times to score six as that nights game was to score 6 on every hole using at least 4 of 9 scores from each player w/holes declared at starting tee. I screwed up and chipped in on one hole or else we would have had a perfect score of 6 on every hole, we won that night by a lot and had one of the most fun nights I ever had golfing.

Almost 60, ok, so she's actually a young lady. No idea how old you are, but that's pretty rude IMHO.

Sounds like she could boom it.

Not sure what's worst. The age discrimination or sexism?

LoL, I knew when he said "old lady" and then said late fifties there was gonna be a bit of backlash.:D In OP's defense though, the title says "old lady" but in the post he said "older ladies" which I think it's totally fair to call someone in their late 50's "older". In any case, I'm sure he didn't mean to offend. Besides, whats wrong with being "old"? I'm only 30 but in some crowds I get called old. No biggie.:D

I don't see the sexism. The average driving distance for players on the LPGA tour is somewhere around 250 I believe so I don't see how being surprised that a woman a little higher up in age hitting a drive 250 in wet conditions is sexist. I think most people would be a bit surprised by that. In that same respect I would be just as surprised to see a man that age drive one as far as a pro on the PGA tour in wet conditions. Would you call that sexist?

I'll be 55 next week so I'm getting "older". I was not offended at all and got a laugh out of it. I have a friend who carries a 1.6 handicap and she's in her 60's. It is a rare thing but she definitely inspired me to keep working at it.

That's because Canadians are awesome

Meanwhile, somewhere on a Canadian message board there is a thread titled, "Today I outplayed some kid who thinks 50 is old."

That's awesome. Alot of the guys I work with are in their 50's and we play often. They give me grief about being younger than them and still getting out drove constantly and I fire back asking if they need to stop in the club house at the turn to pick up some Bayer for their "old bones".lol. It's all in good fun and we do have fun with it. A couple of the guys just seem to be getting better and better with age. No reason age should ever be a a reason to think you can't improve.

Sorry if 'old' offended anyone, heck, I call myself OLD all the time, will be 53 in couple of months and yeah THAT IS OLD, anyone that lived 50+ years probably feels, damn, I've been on this rock a LONG TIME especially if you've done a ton of stuff
LOL

Now to me, personally, most girls over 24 are OLD, that's because after 3 ex wives and being single now 4 years, I've 'dated' probably 400 chicks the past 4 years and not one was over 24, I'm in SFL and I have clients that run the top strip clubs and 30 years ago I was in that industry owning some, so I'm used to 18 to 21 year old red hot strippers, sorry if that offends anyone, but that's about all I've dated or married now for around 30 years, and I do not see it changing, and yeah to me personally a women over 24 is old, compared to an 18 to 21 year old chick.

Now the 'ladies' or 'women' I've played with over the years, the better ones including some that were on LPGA played back or mens tees, so they do not drive short holes, and most were in their 20's, and I've played with teen chicks that are bombers, but I never saw one drive a par 4, and yeah, many of the better women today can drive it around my distance range, and for an OLD DUDE I still crank it out there. But I'm at least 40 yards shorter than 20 years ago, when I was 30 a 320+ drive was common, now, it's 280 with roll out, my common long drive

Now the 'ladies' I played with over the years that were 'players' they were teens and 20's, and a few could hit it very well, but not one drove a par 4 in front of me, yet many of them could of had they played from normal womens tees, but they were not 'normal' women

So to see an 'amateur' older woman (over 50) driving a decent par 4 for a woman that isn't a pro level player, under WET conditions was amazing

I see young phenom's all the time, I'm in SFL, I live a few blocks from Lexi's family, a top teaching pro I know taught her and her brothers when they were younger, he works with my sons best friend who is 13, the kid is 5'10" already and bombs it 310 yards all day, at only 13, I see long college chicks all the time on the courses I play, but they're always on mens tees, now a woman who is still a PLAYER in her 50's is more than entitled to play normal womens tees, so to see an 'older' woman over 50 banging it almost 250 yards in WET conditions, it was a site to see IMO

So I AM AN OLD DUDE, I call myself that at 52, so it's a guy who is the first to say he's OLD, calling fellow 50+ player who happens to be female OLD

Yep, I'm sexist kinda, running strip clubs 30 years ago, still having clients in that industry and the adult industry, so yeah, compared to most I'm sexist, since part of the stuff I did for work for decades has used up young fresh gorgeous chicks

With so many hot YOUNG GIRLS to date and lots of dough, why should I look at a chick over 24? I don't, if they come up to me in a club I say sorry, I date 18 to 21 ONLY, their jaws usually drop when they realize I think over 21 is OLD as to hot chicks, haha.

So if some of my life experience crept into my post SORRY if you are offended, but I'll be the first one to say I'm an old dude

So I'm a PIG, I'm OLD, I only date YOUNG legal strippers or young cart girls or young bartenders and waitresses and they're 18 to 24 and usually 18 to 21.

I have no interest in finding another wife, I have a ton of assets, I have my kids, I have a ton of friends who are all male that I GOLF WITH, I have friends that go out to clubs and casinos with me and dinner

If I need ARM CANDY for an event, I can call dozens of of the hottest strippers or service workers in SFL and choose my pick and none are ever over 24, and the ones over 21 I usually met when they were 18 to 21

So the 2 ladies I played with were OLDER LADIES and I'll be the first to call myself OLD at over 50

I play golf with a ton of young guys, most in their 20's, the reason, they keep up with me on a golf course, most guys my age and older are often 50 to 100 yards behind me, it gets BORING playing with guys that roll out to 190 and maybe 220

Just like it's BORING to take a 30 or 40 year old hot looking chick out, you hear about her kids, her ex's and how she's been where you took her already

You take a young hottie to a high end restaurant they THANK YOU OVER AND OVER for taking them to a nice place

So I enjoy looking at life through the eyes of young beautiful girls, if they make me laugh, they get in my rotation, they get shopping and whatever and when they hit the 25 year zone they get dropped

So if I offended anyone SORRY

But I'm and OLD GUY calling a chick near 60 an OLD LADY and she had a great powerful swing for an older woman/man period

How many 60 year old men/women are driving par 4's, sure I do it all the time from 'mens tees', 275 to 310 yard par 4's, you give me some wind and firm fairways I'm around the green or on it a lot

That's early 50's, not 60, so I'd be shocked if I'm still driving par 4's in 7 or so years

I play with lots of guys in their 60's and some were players, none of them still have any decent length, you loose it as 60 gets near you

I don't know many guys in my age range that still hit as far as I can, but they're around, and most are very serious golfers who have played for years, I just don't personally know them or play with them.

20 years ago it wasn't unusual for me to drive a 350 or a 375 yard par 4, summer fairways and some wind, a hard ball, bingo, huge bomb. 20 years ago I rarely saw anyone hit it consistently with me, now, I get out drove all the time, by YOUNG bombers, and I'm usually longer than most younger 'golfers', since the average 'golfer' can't swing anywhere near 100 MPH usually.

Anyway, it was a site to see, and I'd take that OLD LADY in a scramble format ALL DAY, she was usually 50 yards ahead of my best drives where she was putting her ball from the woman's tees, and yeah I never saw an older woman do that, and no way should she have to play mens tees, she's earned the right to play womens tees since she's probably early 60's and I'm being generous saying around 60, she probably had 10 years on me, so, it was a site to see, and if you have 60 range women at your courses driving it 240 in WET CONDITIONS at SEA LEVEL, ok. But I doubt there's many of her skill set and age around, so that's why I commented on it it was something I never saw in over 30 years of golf.

Anyone to drive a par 4, regardless of yardage, age or condition is always fun to see!
