McRock is back after a short break

Glad things are working out there partner.

Welcome back! That whole thing sounds like a pain in the butt!

No amount of business plans and startup plans can make the startup process smooth. But it has been going fine.

Welcome back. Hope everything works/worked out with the job. Technically, as mayor aren't you employed by the people?

Well, yes. But in reality, I'm merely an attorney for cities, so I guess I work for the council and mayor, who in turn work for the people.

Welcome back. Hope everything works out with work. I have several friends that are self employed and couldn't be happier.

That was a major part of the decision making process, and I had talked to a few former law school classmates who went out on their own. They were all happier, although most indicated they worked more than they did at their prior firms.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.

Glad to have you back, Rock, and wish you a lot of success with new venture.

Good luck. Now if you have to come to Ottumwa to work we can go play golf.
You're in Ottumwa now, Matt? I knew you moved to Iowa, just wasn't sure where. I used to basically live there when I was running routes as a specialist for Frito Lay years ago. Avoid Court Side bar and grill like the plague! HA! Any good Golf up there? I was always there in the winter, so never got to venture out and explore the golf scene.

Jeff,

I am in Ottumwa and I have only ate at Court side a few times, not bad for bar food. The public course is nice and well maintained. Lake Rathbun has a really nice course that I have got to play with Dan on a few occasions. If you are ever up this way let me know.

I'll do that! I still have your number. Planned on venturing up that way anyhow, maybe on my way up to Minnesota next year. Court Side has delectable chicken livers. I believe I ran up a $100 bar tab one night on livers and Michelob Golden Light. That was evil Jeff, however, and he is dead. HA.

Anyhow. Hope you and your family are doing well. Hope Rock is too. Enjoyed that round we all played in Branson a few years back, even though I played like a dumpster fire the back nine and hit nothing but sand wedges on one hole. Lol.

Geez Rock, you didn't need to take 2 and half months to celebrate Team Iowa winning the Golden Chickens this year...

Glad you are back, and hoping your new job works out great for ya!

I was wondering where you had been hiding! I thought you were off grooving that golf swing :)

Welcome Back! Congrats on now being self-employed. For me it was the best decision I have ever made.
