Pictures of your Kid's Swing

Zoey first lesson was a huge success. dumba** daddy left her putter at home so Coach Phillip was forced to move to full swing with an iron and the Driver.

Coach focused on grip, ball position, routine, and keeping the swing in motion (she has a 3/4 swing waggle). He setup a template (PVC pipes) to keep ball position, both distance from the ball and distance towards her left foot. She piped a few good drives and hit a bunch of good wedge shots.

Routine consisted of taking her grip with her feet together (ball positioned in the middle). Then looking at her target and opening both her feet (wedge) or just the back foot for driver. Coach called this self alignment (worked awesome. I'm going to use it for myself). Then he kick started her (see video below) and off she went.

That's awesome Minh! Hoping my little girl will take to the game too.

My sons last shot of our short range session. 145 dead straight. He keeps teeing up in the middle of his stance with driver, when I remind him to move it forward he drills it.

My daughter asked me to go outside and "play golf" in the yard. Hope she never stops asking :)

Nope, MA. His junior league baseball team last season was the Padres.

Zoey's second lesson (should have been lesson #1, but if you recall I forgot to bring her putter last week) was on putting. Coach Phillip stressed routine.

Putting Routine
1. Squat down and aim the ball to the hole (he had an arrow on the ball for alignment).
2. Walk 3-5 feet behind the ball to confirm the line. If wrong, back to step #1.
3. Take your grip while behind the ball from step #2. He said the reason was less stuff to deal with when over the putt.
4. Walk back to the ball and line up the putter. I added aligning the putter's alignment to the arrow on the ball.
5. Look at target and open the feet.
6. Look down at the ball and back at the hole. This second look is to feel the proper distance.
7. Make the putt.

After practicing a three foot putts (she had to make all 5 putts). Then he had her move to 9 foot putts. Everything remained the same. Key take away, always stressing the routine. If she skipped a step we did it over.

Next game was called "RECON". First, she would throw a golf ball to a hole. That gave her an idea what kind of speed she would need to putt the ball to the hole (hence the name recon). Next she would repeat the putting routine (above) until she got the correct speed/pace on her putt. After completing a hole, she advanced to the next level/hole doing the same thing.

As always, videos below. I hope this helps other parents teach their kids how to golf.

My little guy just had his second lesson this year. Had a great time and we ended up hitting a lot after the lesson.
