For Twitter Newbs: If you get a direct message that looks like these: "Is this you in this video http:/kjgkjinlnjkhby" or "I can't believe this http:/jhfhtfytffgfr" or any short message with a shortened, blind link DO NOT CLICK IT!
Reply & ask if they sent it! 99% they have been hacked & you will be too. I got about 30 trojan horse/malware/hacked links sent that way while in Vegas. From pro golfers & THPers, alike.

Twitter is great & has great uses, but there are plenty of people looking to screw you over, too.

This is concerning Direct Messages.

Seems like I get one out of the blue from people. Most from people from THP, as that's who is mainly on my follow list, but from others too. I always let them know that I got a message from them and 100% of the time, they had never sent anything; their account was hacked. Just got another one today.

So if anyone ever gets one from me, please let me know, as I don't send them!

Same here, this happened to me last month. My account sent some random PM's so I changed my password. Also have received them and notified the sender.

Not sure how this happens, annoying and concerning as to what else they could hack.
 
I don't even know how to send direct messages.
 
If you are new to Twitter and are a little confused here is a list that you can follow. It has fellow THP members if you select follow you will be able to see all of the "Tweets" that people on this list send. Also let me know if you have any questions and I will try and help you out.

Thanks man, I really wasn't sure what else to try. I have posted the link to the lists page on my profile and it worked before not sure what the deal was last night.

I finally signed up for a twitter acct, my username is GolfBum49 if you'd like to ad me. I will forewarn you that I have no idea what I'm doing and will do my best to respond and participate. If I dont respond, please don't take it personally because that's just not the case. The real truth is that the 80s, although fun beyond words! They totally fried me, my memory is as long as a palmetto bug and my attention span is shorter.
