It's 48 hours post-gruesome leg-day. Getting ready to go hit the treadmill and abs. It's gonna be miserable. It's gonna be VERY miserable.

I ate very poorly yesterday. Got to fix it today
 
After a few days off I got back at it tonight with my full workout.

Amazing what taking a little time off does to your quickness and strength in your workout.

Thankfully I've been doing pretty well as of late with this...cooked dinner last night (spicy beef lettuce wraps) and respectfully declined a request from Richard to make potatoes. They are my junk food nemesis.

Kids' cold got to me and went straight to my chest. Time for R&R and orange juice.
 
I got new shoes the other day, and man they felt great when running, it's amazing how much better I felt with a more properly sized shoe. The width was awesome, thank you new balance.

THIS!! It was amazing yesterday to go and run with my new Brooks. Felt like it was the first time i have ran correctly in forever. I thought the Puma Shanghi's I had was comfortable, which they are, but these took it to another level. They are built to correct my over pronation when I walk and run. It was magic. My knees felt better, i didnt get shin splints nearly as bad, i felt like I was able to go longer and harder. I also, based on Jordans idea of interval training, tried that for the first time. Thats the way to go. I'm going to mix it up with some bike work as well, but I felt great after the running part of my workout.

I decided today that my gym workout needs some variation, I'll try more weight less reps for a while, the progress has seemed to stop and I need to change something.

Oh, and I love green tea, but now going To add it to my daily routine, drink a cup or two every day. It's good, healthy and boosts the metabolism.
 
Ab Ripper X just kicked my azz. Core needs some work.
 
I had a cheat dinner last night that was totally worth it but not super unhealthy. Taking a day off today because I am absolutely smoked from last week.

Try hanging windshield wipers. You wanna talk about a core workout!
I start off every other core session with these while holding a 5lb dumbbell between my feet. My abs hate me afterwards.

A local guy I follow on you tube was just talking about those the other day. I don't think I'm there yet as my core is my weakest link at the moment.

On a side note squats took the wind out of me today. That was a first for me...

Don't fret. Squats always take the wind out of me! My line of thinking is that it wasn't a good leg day if I don't have to fight off puking at some point.

Its my first time back to squatting in almost 2 months so I was prepared to struggle and dropped my weight down, but man I wasn't prepared for how I felt

Fighting a cold at the moment which has dragged my energy levels down a bit, but I have been trying to sweat it out on the badminton court

Got an appointment with the physio after work, which is more just for reassurance that my back is ok (after the problems a couple weeks ago it has actually eased and feels a lot better) and then I will be back on the badminton court on Thursday evening

Running still hasn't re-started yet, but while we were out at the weekend Jen spoke to an advisor in a specialist running shop and they gave her some advice so we may well be back there next weekend so they can assess her running stride and see if there is something they can do so that she can get back out again - she has been hesitant to start again in case the same problem re-appears

Chest cold is gone! There will be deadlifts tonight. Oh yes, there will be deadlifts.
 
Last day of garbage eating before weigh-ins for the fitness challenge on wednesday. Going to eat cleaner tomorrow and wednesday so I feel good to hit the ground running wednesday night/thursday. Kicking it off right with basketball wednesday night followed by LEGS DAY. Kind of really want to try front squats on a bosu ball...

V Roll ups are the devil, I'm 100% SURE OF IT. That and Fifer Scissors. Combine those together and it usually involved the pause button and an immediate roll into the fetal position/stomach trying to stretch it all out.
