Here we go again: Brett Favre

It's true - Favre was great, tarnished the public opinion of himself by being a putz, and now he's going to fade away (if not this year, one year soon) embarassingly rather than be remembered wholly and completely as a hero.
Its nice to see the Packers taking the high road and still offering to retire Favre's number.
Personally, I dont see what Favre's beef is with the management. He told them that he was retiring and they gave him a chance to come back even after that press conference, but he told them he was retiring.
So, the Packers moved on and committed to Aaron Rodgers. Then, Favre changes his mind, wants to come back and is mad because the Packers wont dump Rodgers??? Give me a break.
Nothing can ever take away what Favre accomplished in Green Bay. He is one of the all-time great QBs and Im glad that he played so many years in Green Bay.
However, its time to move on. Favre is past his prime and IMO no longer has what it takes to lead a team to a Super Bowl.
People seem to think that Favre carried the Packers on his back and singlehandedly won all those games, but the fact is that when the Packers were winning, they had a good offensive line, great recievers and a pretty decent running game. By no means did Favre win those games all by himself and anyone who thinks that Favre could win a Super Bowl with any team needs a reality check.
For every TD pass that Favre thew to win a game, he threw at least 2 interceptions that lost the game. Favre has a bad habit of just throwing the ball up for grabs when none of his recievers are open and all to often that ends up being an INT or even worse, a pick-6.
Favre is a great QB, but all too often his gun-slinger ways cause interceptions and cost the team wins.

This is very true...and true with any star player. There are a lot of unsung heroes on a football team, if they do nothing but play their role in the production and not screw it up.

Yup. Give any QB a crappy offensive line and they would be running for their life all day long and would have no time to find the open recievers.
With a good offensive line, almost any QB can do well because they have all day to find the open reciever.
