The French Fries Thread

Zaxby's are solid when fresh out of the fryer and hot.

Best way to make sure you get hot fries is to order them without salt.

And the best way to make everybody in the drive-thru mad at you!

McD's for me and Five Guys are up there too. Chick-fil-A would be better if I could remember to ask for them well-done since they're always a little light and slightly mushy for me.

For me it has to be Five Guys. Being half Dutch, I remember my younger days in Holland where fries were sold everywhere...called patat friets and eaten with mayo.

McDonald's is my fave and a close second is the garlic fries from Twigs.

Types of fries which are not that common but which should be because they're so damn awesome:

Steak fries
Crinkle-Cut fries

Restaurants which have ruined their fries:

Wendy's
Arbys (not that they ever had good fries)

Of the chains, McDs and Chic fil a. McDonald's is better at its best but Chic nails them on consistency.

Spicy curly fries. Also Nathan's famous fresh cut.

Definitley Five Guys.

But a close second would be Fat Burgers Skinny Fries.

Restaurants which have ruined their fries:

Wendy's
Arbys (not that they ever had good fries)

As strange as this might sound, McDonalds needs to go on this list. Before the days of frozen foods and "healthier" oil, McDonalds fries were unbelievable. Although they're still pretty awesome, the fries they serve today pale in comparison...older THPer's will know.

Kinda like Rally's these days, surprised no one has mentioned them.
