This morning while playing an early pre masters round with my brother we came to a par 4 where I was hitting my 3rd shot out of the a bunker about 50 yards out. I hit my shot on the green bounced and spun at the pin. It hit the pin and was on the outside of the hole. When we walked up we saw the only thing keeping the ball from falling in the cup was the flag pinning the ball to the side of the cup. When I moved the stick the ball fell in, what was the score? We agreed a birdie was that the correct call?

Yes, right score. Make sure not to do it quickly or roughly, which could bounce the ball off the flagstick and not drop.

Rule 17-4. Ball Resting Against Flagstick

When a player's ball rests against the flagstick in the hole and the ball is not holed, the player or another person authorized by him may move or remove the flagstick, and if the ball falls into the hole, the player is deemed to have holed out with his last stroke; otherwise, the ball, if moved, must be placed on the lip of the hole, without penalty.
