Design Your Burger

There are many ways I enjoy a burger, but if I had to pick one it would be a simple, all American burger.

- 1/4lb patty, cooked medium (pink, but not bleeding)
- shredded lettuce (it has to be shredded, that's what makes the burger)
- slice of tomato
- dill pickles (at least 3 chips, the more the better)
- ketchup
- a smear of yellow mustard
- a smear of mayo
- and some kind of hearty, but not hard bun, like a potato bun or something.

NO cheese, NO bacon, plain and simple.

Now if I want to go exotic, my pick would hands down be:

- 1/4lb patty, cooked medium (pink, but not bleeding)
- blueberry jam, with pieces of blueberries in it
- delicious, creamy, melty brie cheese
- and a hearty, but not hard bun.

Mouth watering!

Listen you guys...An ideal burger is one that keeps its form throughout the eating experience, isn't stupid messy, and one that you can easily take a bite of (not something piled 3 feet high). So I give you...

THE REGULAR:

- 1/4 lb 80/20 chopped meat
- shredded iceburg lettuce (shredded real nice, that's the key)
- thin sliced tomatoes (2 slices)
- thin sliced red onion
- pickles
- Ketchup (or thousand island dressing)
- Potato Bun

You're welcome!

Clearly we could go eat a burger together since we basically described the same thing. And yes, shredded lettuce is key, it makes the burger.

oh boy... so many options... but this is the way I roll:

Ciabatta bun
1/3 lb ground buffalo with an egg and some broken up crackers to make sure it holds together
pepperjack cheese
3 onion rings (to cover the whole burger)
Ham
Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce

Two smash grilled patties made from my special Burger Blend (fresh ground mix of brisket, chuck and short rib). Cooked to a juicy medium well (to appease all comers).

Three slices of melt-able cheese like American. One on bottom, one in between, one on top.

Homemade special sauce (mayo, ketchup, mustard, chopped dill pickle, garlic powder, paprika, and a pinch of cayenne) on the top and bottom buns.

Healthy piece of green leaf lettuce on top before placing on the top bun.

Oh, and speaking of the bun... Martin's potato roll. Lightly griddled, dry.

Let me make this for you sometime and you'll be in heaven.

1/3 pound ground chuck patty, with a 25% fat content, stuffed with sharp cheddar cheese, seasoned with just a dash of Montreal steak seasoning
shredded iceberg lettuce
Two slices of beefsteak tomato
three strips of bacon
thin-sliced red onion
grilled mushrooms & green peppers
topped with a 60-40 blend of mayo and sriracha

on a lightly toasted ciabatta bun

Patties - 2 50% ground sirloin 50% ground pork
bacon
Mozzarella cheese
grilled onions
Brown onion gravey

The burger I always make for parties, the "Marry Shelly," is a modified Juicy Lucy:

Two patties made with any high-grade beef (whether waygu or sirloin). The patty mix is made with onion, garlic, and my secret spice mix.
Patties are pressed thin. Put first patty on work surface. Take a sandwich-sized slice of smoked sharp cheddar and cut into quarters, stack the quarters on top of each other. Place the stack of cheese on the first patty.
Take two pieces of thick-cut bacon and fry them. Take fried bacon and place in "X" shape on top of cheese.
Take second patty and place on top. Work the two patties together to seal the cheese and bacon inside so only the ends of the bacon stick out from the sides.
Place patty in smoker over choice of wood. Smoke the burger.
Take potato bun, butter the inside of the top and bottom portions of the bun and place on griddle to fry/toast the bun like you would a grilled cheese.
Throw patty in the griddled bun with butter lettuce, ketchup, and mustard.

burger patty, brat patty, 2 slices of Wisconsin cheese and pretzel bun no name as of yet but its incredible

I read this and thought, there is one thing that doesnt fit in this explosion. Way to healthy it up.

Hey, it's practically a salad . . . . A 10,000 calorie salad.

The Double Bypass:

Patty 1 - 1/4 lb 90% ground sirloin mixed with salt and pepper and a reduction of shallots and butter in cabernet, grilled to medium over high heat.

Patty 2 - 1/4 lb 50/50 mixture of 90% ground sirloin and ground bacon, grilled to just well done enough that the pink disappears.

Bun - kummelweck roll with rosemary butter, toasted.

Assembly:

Top of bun
Patty 2
One slice extra sharp cheddar
Two slices beefsteak tomato
Arugula
Patty 1
Bottom of bun

Half pound ground beef patty cooked medium well
Peanut butter
Strawberry jam
Bacon
Nice thick bun

There's a metal themed burger spot I go to once a month called Grill Em All and they make this burger and add Sriracha. It's called the "Dee Snyder". It's my all time favorite burger. I don't actually taste the Sriracha. My other favorite is "Napalm Death" which has jalapenos coming out its a**

Brioche bun toasted
2 patties of lean beef
pepperjack cheese on each patty
fried egg over easy
sweet BBQ sauce
2 strips of smoked applewood bacon

the other option would be

1/4 pound angus beef
swiss cheese
peanut butter and jelly
onions
ketchup
smoked applewood bacon

Oh man!

-The bun will be two slices of garlic bread.
-1/2 pound Angus beef patty
- Shredded lettuce
- 3 strips of thick crispy bacon
- Old Cheddar Cheese
- Shredded and deep fried onions
- Jalapenos
- Mushrooms
- Thick Brown Gravy
- Mayo
- Mustard

The key to this burger is the gravy and garlic bread. It's unspeakably good!

Two 1/4 pound 80/20 ground beef patties cooked medium-rare on a CHARCOAL grill with the following toppings / condiments: pepper jack cheese, Nathan's onion rings, sliced fresh (not pickled) jalapeno and habanero peppers, and Dave's Insanity Mustard. The Insane Burger.

Bacon wrapped elk burger
Crispy onion straws
Goat cheese
dijon mustard
Toasted sourdough bread

Here is burger that I made yesterday for Father's day.

The Lynchburg:
Mix hamburger meat, egg, bread crumbs, shredded cheddar cheese, and a sweet baby rays BBQ sauce all together. Then wrap patties with bacon. Cook till bacon is a little crisp which is medium for the burger. Dab a little more BBQ sauce on top and melt munster cheese on top. Then throw the buns on the grill with sharp cheddar cheese on top of the bun. Slap together with lettuce and tomato. I used 2.5 pounds to make 8 patties.

They were good.

1/2 pound patty with pepper jack on top, tomato, shredded lettuce, jalapeño mayo, mustard, fresh roasted hatch green chiles, and a quesadilla as a bun.

Bison burger mixed with olive oil, crushed garlic, and kosher salt. Grilled.

Toppings:
Extra sharp cheddar cheese, white

Bacon, real deal bacon, not that supermarket paper thin stuff
tomato slice
(doesn't need anything more)

On a hearty sourdough bun served with thick onion rings

Ultimate Beef Burger

2 Alberta beef patties
smoked cheddar
gouda
6 slices of apple wood smoked bacon
butter leaf lettuce
tomato
pickles
red onions
Keiser roll

These all sound so good, what time should I come over? haha

I make a pretty simple burger.

1/2 to 3/4lb 80/20 angus patty seared on a hot pecan or hickory fire, and then moved aside to indirect heat to finish it, giving it a nice crust, yet still juicy inside.
Caramalized onions and mushrooms, (really browned, not just sauteed) putting the mushrooms in last so they don't get over cooked.
A bit of shredded extra sharp cheddar topped by another cheese that melts well like smoky gouda.
Lettuce
Tomato
4 slices of Wrights bacon.
Mayo, and a bit of sweet relish, or chipotle mayo with fresh gaucamole.

(2) 1/4 lb patties with half chuck half brisket
Sharp cheddar cheese
Thick cut peppered bacon
Sauteed mushrooms
Sauteed onions
Light spread of mustard
No idea on the bun. Maybe a nice pretzel bun (but a soft one, if that exists)
