At THP, we believe that testing should be done not only by us, but also by the wonderful forum members and we have another new testing project. One of the cool features about being an active member of the THP Forum is that we look to you guys/gals, the consumers, to give feedback on equipment to golfers all around the world. Each month we send out iron sets, drivers, putters, training aids and golf balls to our active members to be a part of the THP Forum Member testing.

The Product
Swingbyte puts answers to a better golf game on your mobile device. Immediately after a swing, the Swingbyte app displays an interactive 3D visual of your swing along with key data. The new Virtual Coach feature (iPhone only during beta) allows users to receive personalized lesson plans with tips and drills from golf’s top instructors. With real-time feedback in the palm of your hand, Swingbyte will help you track progress and improve faster. Anytime. Anywhere.

Criteria
5 Testers total will be involved in this review.
You must be able to practice. Either at a practice facility or swing at home.
You must have an iPhone

Testing Process
If selected it will be your job to test the device out (or have significant other test the product) and update the official testing thread with feedback on your findings. This is long term testing and will need updates for a period of a month or so. If you are looking for info on what forum testing feedback should look like, check out one of the many review threads to see how others have fared.

To participate you must be an active forum member or become an active forum member. Being active on THP has its benefits and product testing is one of them (monthly testing like this). If you are new, that is okay, being active is more than just tenure.

Rules
This is not a contest, so there really are no rules. All we ask is that you make a post in this thread and answer these questions. Please have an answer to all questions and be specific.
IPHONE REQUIRED

1. How often do you practice?
2. Have you ever used a swing training device like this before?
3. What is your handicap?
4. How good or bad do you think your swing is?

Keep in mind if you are not chosen for this, there will be plenty of opportunities in the future here at THP for testing and other product trials. Stay active and you will have a chance to be part of these awesome testings we do here.

Testing is open to all Members on THP. However free shipping of the SwingByte (if selected) is only available to Albatross Club Members (along with many other perks).

1. How often do you practice? 3 days a week in some form or fashion. This time of year it is mostly drills
2. Have you ever used a swing training device like this before? No
3. What is your handicap? 1.2
4. How good or bad do you think your swing is? Doesn't look pretty to the eye except in the impact zone

1. How often do you practice? At least once a week, and sometimes before/after rounds
2. Have you ever used a swing training device like this before? Yes, I've used the previous version of swing byte and another brand before
3. What is your handicap? GHIN: 15.6
4. How good or bad do you think your swing is? I'd say it's pretty bad, very inconsistent and not reliable at all.

This would be an awesome product to test for me! I've never used something like this before, but I am able to fully swing in my apartment (high ceilings and carpet) so this could be something that might really be able to help over the winter while hitting foam balls inside!

1. How often do you practice? - I try to practice every day
2. Have you ever used a swing training device like this before? - I have never used something like this before.
3. What is your handicap? - Currently 8.4
4. How good or bad do you think your swing is? - My swing has been fairly solid recently, but I have lost a bit of swing speed/power. Would be nice to see if this can catch what is causing that and have real time feedback to try and get it back.

Thanks for the opportunity!

What an awesome opportunity! I could use something like this!

1. How often do you practice? 50 full swings everyday. If not outside, i have a place in my house that has the room i need.
2. Have you ever used a swing training device like this before? I have not. Ive always wanted to jump on board with todays technology and swing aid's but ive yet to take the plunge
3. What is your handicap? 7.8
4. How good or bad do you think your swing is? I think i have a decent swing. I know it can be pretty solid when i get consistent, but i also know its not perfect.

Thanks again THP and SwingByte!

1. How often do you practice? 2-3 days per week
2. Have you ever used a swing training device like this before? No.
3. What is your handicap? 11.5
4. How good or bad do you think your swing is? I'm still a 10+, so there are plenty of flaws, but I think I have a good swing.

1. How often do you practice?

About once a week usually.

2. Have you ever used a swing training device like this before?

No.

3. What is your handicap?

~15 but I haven't been keeping up on my score tracking recently

4. How good or bad do you think your swing is?

I'd say it's pretty solidly between bad and good.

1. How often do you practice? 3-4 times a week is the goal.
2. Have you ever used a swing training device like this before? No
3. What is your handicap? 24ish (havent recorded a round in a month or so)
4. How good or bad do you think your swing is? not very good at all. Real inconsistent and in need of a lot of help

Great opportunity!

1. How often do you practice? It has been less than I would like the past few months, but life is returning to normal and I hope to get out at least every week to 10 days or so.
2. Have you ever used a swing training device like this before? I have used similar, but not the Swingbyte
3. What is your handicap? 24
4. How good or bad do you think your swing is? My swing falls in the middle. It isn't as bad as it use to be, but still needs improvement.

1. How often do you practice? I get to the range twice a week. I have a quick lunch time session during the week and a longer session on a week night.
2. Have you ever used a swing training device like this before? I have never used anything close to this type of product.
3. What is your handicap? Around 11
4. How good or bad do you think your swing is? I know that I can get way off plane and really hit some bad shots.

1. How often do you practice? Range at least once a week, twice if I don't play, if I do play warmup at the range before the round.
2. Have you ever used a swing training device like this before? I have used the SC100 launch monitor, but nothing that records swing path
3. What is your handicap? 13.4 GHIN
4. How good or bad do you think your swing is? I don't have a great swing. I fight an OTT move, it is fairly repeatable, but there is a lot of improvement to be had as you can see by the Handicap

Thanks to THP and Swingbyte for the testing opportunity. I think this would be a great aid in prep for the #Grandaddy

1. During the regular (summer) season here in WNY at least once a week. During the winter I'll swing my clubs in my living room almost every other day for 10-15 mins looking into a mirror to keep things decently fresh.

2. I have not, just reviewed my swing via slow mo video on my phone and in a mirror. I just never really wanted to invest a lot of money into DIY devices like this before.

3. Not USGA or GHIN official, but around a 18. Shoot in the 90's and dip in the high 80's when my game is real tight.

4. I would say somewhere in the middle, not great but effective enough to score decently well. Most of my flaws come from lack of formal lessons and having an unconventional (flat) short swing with my longer clubs (Driver, 3W, 5W).

Missed the iPhone requirement.

1. How often do you practice? 2 to 3 times per week
2. Have you ever used a swing training device like this before? Yes, I have used the Swingtip before
3. What is your handicap? 12-13
4. How good or bad do you think your swing is? I would say my swing is normal. Not horrible but not great. I tend to come OTT when I am off.

I would love to test out the newer tech in this little device. I am in Socal and have a range membership so I have plenty of time and the perfect weather to give this gadget a go.

I'd love to test one of these out.

1. I try and practice 2-3 times a week.
2. No I haven't
3. 10.3
4. Varies. When I can keep from sliding my hips to far forward I think it is really good. Other times not so much.

1. How often do you practice? 2 or more times per week.

2. Have you ever used a swing training device like this before? Yes, the original SwingByte when it was $10 from AT&T stores.

3. What is your handicap? 22

4. How good or bad do you think your swing is? It looks pretty sound (single plane, in-to-out, steady head, etc.), but I still have issues. Currently I tend to hang back often and hit the toe with a straight to slightly left swing direction, resulting in some occasional gnarly hooks.

* It's interesting that this contest popped up when it did. I have not used my SwingByte 1 lately and have been meaning to start using it again. I've been impressed with it overall and found that it's relatively close to other monitors when used in conjunction with them.

Awesome opportunity! Sad I don't have an Iphone to take part. Good luck and good testing folks! Look forward to the reviews :)

I already have a Swingbyte 2. Now might be a good time to really get it going so I can add to the reviews that will be coming in.

This actually right up my alley, having a net to practice in is great but it only goes so far without feedback.

1. Usually 1-2 a week.
2. No.
3. 11.4
4. Consistent, usual miss is from leaving the face open at impact.

1. How often do you practice? Daily (indoor launch monitor, plus outdoor chipping and putting)
2. Have you ever used a swing training device like this before? Yes, SwingByte
3. What is your handicap? 8.1
4. How good or bad do you think your swing is? Swing is decent but needs some tempo and AoA work for consistent distance control.

Have iPhone 6s+

1. How often do you practice? Twice a weekend, rarely during the week
2. Have you ever used a swing training device like this before? No I have not
3. What is your handicap? 25
4. How good or bad do you think your swing is? I think it is inconsistent. Sometimes I think it is great, and others I wish I could start over.

1. How often do you practice? 1-2 times a week either at a range or with an orange whip
2. Have you ever used a swing training device like this before? No, the closest I have ever used is the system inside Golfsmith.
3. What is your handicap? 14
4. How good or bad do you think your swing is? I have an average swing path, fighting a slice with lees than average length.

Please make sure you read over the added info.
An iPhone is NECESSARY due to a new virtual coach feature the testers will be using.

Thank you THP for another chance to be more active in the forums and interacting with the other members of THP. Here my entry:

1. How often do you practice? At least once of week along with at least 1 round a week on course
2. Have you ever used a swing training device like this before? never used a swing training at all
3. What is your handicap? Current revision is 5.4 thru US Handicap
4. How good or bad do you think your swing is? I think my tempo is great but my form is car crash horrific.

Wow. Talk about timing in reference to my swing analyzer post.

1. How often do you practice?
2-5 times a week depending on my work schedule. Most of the summer time is at the range. The winter is all indoor in my basement hitting balls into a net for about 30 minutes a day. I'm focusing on clubpath, clubface and weight shift. I do several drills and would love the opportunity to verify what I'm working on is accurate with as I'm hitting balls into a net with no ball flight to view. I also am taking lessons twice a month indoors, working with my pro on the stuff I mentioned. We use a Flightscope and I would love to verify the SB numbers compared to Flightscope. When I get range time, I like to verify my ball flight is doing what I'm intending it to do.

2. Have you ever used a swing training device like this before?
I've used the Skygolf and 3 bays devices before but took them back due to inaccuracies.

3. What is your handicap?
18

4. How good or bad do you think your swing is?
On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 6. I know what I need to work on,
clubpath, club face, and weight shift. I work with a pro and will continue to do so this winter. I need to verify that what I'm working on is correct with quantifiable data to maximize my learning. I love to practice.
