Buying new gear - Stock or Custom?

I try to order stock. I also try to go with no charge upgrades. But with my swing, most stock offerings don't perform optimally.

I order stock stuff and then do the adjustments my self. I'm not one to tinker with different shafts and such though. I buy the clubs and lengthen them and regrip and hit the course. All my woods are stock off the shelf.

Whatever I get fit for. I will let the fitter knowim open to upgrade shafts

Depends on what works for me!!

I have mostly been stock in the past, but after a few fittings in the last few months I will be doing them anytime I drop dough on gear.

Funny though, my most recent one got me in a stock set up, but not the model I would have thought would work for me.

I've done both, probably 50-50 on purchases so far

I've been measured a few times and the answer always comes back that with my height and length of my arms, I'm standard length. I also know I need stiff shafts.

So, generally, I buy off the rack for irons.

My driver was about a two year process. I got a Quad R7 head and it took a while to find the right flex and length of shaft.

I'd say I'm about 90 percent off the rack, 10 percent custom.
I do sometimes factor in resale factor, and I feel like off the rack will sell better.
