Hey guys new poster here! Just wondering if anyone could have a look at my swing videos and give me some tips. I was hitting a nice little fade with my irons but lately I've been push fading my iron shots mainly from 8 iron up, wedges and 9 iron are pretty straight. Driver is ok but I hit it low and have a large fade which on occasion will be a large slice. And as for the hybrid I will usually hook it like a b*tch!! Any tips will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance everyone.

I think you tempo is a bit quick. If you slowed down just a bit you'd have time to setup and deliver a solid strike. Your quick tempo is placing your lead shoulder in front of the ball. By the time you reach impact, you are so far in front of the ball and over the top. This means a push slice right.

The power comes from getting the left shoulder on or behind the ball. From here you really want to swing through the ball while keeping that shoulder behind the ball. I suggest you narrow your stance a bit and take some of the waist flex you have (bit too much). Slow down that tempo and work on staying behind the ball through impact.

Thanks for your reply, I did realize that my tempo had crept back to being far too quick so I went to the range and worked on a much slower backswing without gripping the club so tight and had better results, still a few shots out to the right with irons but not so much a big fade/slice. Are you saying to stand closer to the ball or feet closer together? And too much waist bend with the driver or with both irons and driver? What do you think would be causing the big hook with the hybrid? Do you think it has to do with the way to fast tempo aswell? Cheers

I agree with Tadashi 70. Slowing down your back swing will give you better ball striking. I also agree with his other suggestions. It is hard to tell with the camera angle but your driver swing might benefit from bringing your ball back in your stance. It also looked good up to impact but it looked like you were pulling the club around too much in your follow thru instead of up and over. That could cause your fade/slice by slicing across the ball at impact or in a worst case scenario with a closed face could cause a pull hook.

Thanks, I played today and actually had my driver on point I can work the ball either way with the driver so pretty happy with that, it's just the irons giving me grief now, I keep hitting a big slice with my irons and can't seem to stop it, I do see that my divots seem to go left so that's an OTT move isn't it? I used to hit the irons very well usually just a nice straight shot with a slight curve but now every thing from 8 iron up is a big slice.
