then I guess I agree with mm. I don't consider golf's truest test to be a bunch of driver/wedge and driveable par 4s. I've played the old course, and it's every bit and more wonderful as I hoped it would be. but the game often lapses courses that were once celebrated tour stops. I don't think the old course WILL be removed from the rota, but I'm starting to wonder if it should be.

Didn't they actually make St. Andrews easier for the Open than normal by making sure the rough was thinned out and not as thick and tall as the last couple of times? If they had let it be, then scores would be dramatically higher. This is in contrast to what the USGA seems to have to do to protect a number of the U.S. Open courses where they narrow the fairways and grow-up the rough to artificially inflate the scores.

from a chance at history it would be awesome to see Spieth win, but I am rooting for Sergio or Day to win this.
