? On shaft length vs SW

So I guess the rule of thumb is each 1/2" is worth 3 swing weight. But my question is does that hold for everything from driver to wedges?
Thinking of taking 1/4" off my irons and wondering if it will be right at 1.5 SW, a little more or a little less.

Not always a true rule of thumb but close. Taking 1/4" off the butt end will change SW a little but only you will know if it matters. Most people would never feel the difference. Trim away!
 
I thought for every 1\2" you are looking at 2 swing weights
