I see on some members have the USGA and GHIN handicaps. How do I go about establishing a handicap and what do I need to do?

There is a link on THP for handicap tracking. Other options are finding free handicap services like on Yahoo or finding a club, pro shop, local golf association that keeps handicaps. I use Maryland Golf Association and it costs me $35/yr. Then I enter my scores after each round. I am sure there are other ways that I am leaving out and hopefully others will jump on and give suggestions. These are just the ways I do/have done it.

One factor I have not seen mentioned is that, if you want an ACCURATE handicap, you will have to learn and play by the rules of golf so that your scores really reflect your ability.
