Removing Golf Shaft Extensions

I was thinking of removing my 3/4" shaft extensions. Is it best to remove the whole extension or just cut it off at the butt end of the shaft? They are graphite shafts that I am working with.

Just a little heat and pull it if it was installed with epoxy.
