I know of rusty and flying wedge for sure.

There's been a few but Wedge and I have been the regulars so far.

I got a story you might appreciate then, Rusty and wedge.

OK here's the setup for this:

The Aviation Director of my place, Al (who is a pilot) retired after 30+ years of service. My chief pilot and I wanted to do something special (and maybe a little naughty) for his farewell party.

When a pilot retires the airport fire department will spray fire hoses over the aircraft as the pilot comes home from his last trip as a tribute.
It's an important and honestly very moving experience for those of us in the business.

Here's what it looks like:

Al had the ceremony (it was wonderful) and Dave and I got our inspiration.

Well, as it happens, Al got a fire pit from my chief pilot as a gift in April of 2011 (REMEMBER THIS DATE!) , but it sat in the back of the hangar until he retired.

It turned into a big joke around our department and we poked fun at it behind Al's back. The chief pilot kept track of the days it was there and would mark on a piece of paper with lines how long it was there and take pictures of it.

We wanted to have a little fun with it for the retirement party, so we got my tech-savvy son John to help us make a video, and this is what we got.

I hope you enjoy it and don't mind the thread-jerk. I figured it was pilot-y so you wouldn't mind.

That is hilarious!

Hilar!

My Father-n-law retired from US Air and my wife coordinated having the fire department spray water over the plane as he taxed in. My Father-n-law played Johnny Paychecks song "Take This Job and Shove It" over the PA because he was pissed that US Air took his pension. We hired a bagpiper to escort him through the airport when he arrived.

Hahaha

I'm not sure I could ever be a pilot. I would just mutter "I've got your clearance Clarence. Roger Rodger, what's your vector Victor…?" over and over in the cockpit.

negative ghost rider, the pattern is full!!!!!

Love it! Where is the Crop Duster switch?
