Iron Finish Face Wear

I purchased the XTD Tour irons. Really like them so far. They have a documented face wear issue I have been told that face wear does not effect performance. Just wanted to make sure that is true. Thank you.

The faces of irons wear, all of them. Some show it more because of the color or quality of the finish over the hitting area of the face (grooves), but that wear has no bearing on the grooves themselves or the performance of the clubs. Its solely aesthetics.
