What Happened To The Dominance Of TaylorMade Golf?

I want to expand on this as well. They are not done. While it was not really internal yesterday, that is coming again in the near future, similar to how it happened months ago.

Speaking with folks inside Adidas HQ and those that have recently left has been interesting. The problem is much bigger than just TM, look at the strain Reebok has put on Adidas as well, it was a poor match from the start.

Keep the R line and Burner line. Dump everything else. Keep DJ and Jason Day. They are pretty good staff players to have.

not trying to start something but just wonder why you don't like the tweet? it's kinda the standard "we're #1 on Tour" tweet isn't it?

But are they #1 on tour because they spend the most money to get players to play their clubs? AKA, they budget a ton for staff players?

I think this has a lot to do with TaylorMade...Adidas went against Nike in a handful of markets and simply fared poorly, while losing market share in other areas it used to dominate (soccer specifically). In the meantime, Reebok went after and got rights for a variety of smaller entities, like the UFC, CrossFit, and the NHL. Adidas used to have a stranglehold on the European football scene, but smaller companies and Nike have combined to pick off a lot of contracts.

It's been a tough two years for TaylorMade, and it really doesn't help that it's been a rough three-plus years for their parent company.

Apparently TaylorMade is letting go a bunch of their higher paid sales reps. Yikes
