Hey guys, I was looking at the Black Hawk putter and I see that it can stand on it's own;

Is that legal?

I had a look at the rules and it doesn't say anything about it - http://golftips.golfsmith.com/usga-rules-putters-20532.html

Surely this would be a huge help when putting!

The Bridgestone True Balance putters do the same thing.

Amazing!
I think it would be next to impossible to convince people here in Uganda that it was legal though.

It reminds me of a VHS tape!

I guess the biggest difference between the Bridgestones and the Black Hawk is that the Bridgestones are beautiful!
Quite impressed, I'd love to get the mallet.

The human still has to swing the club.........

I don't think it's illegal and I don't see it as an advantage at all. You still have to hit the putt.

Matt Every used it a few years ago.

Not a new concept. In the 90's a company made a product called the "Stand Up Putter" that did the same thing.

The L2 I reviewed does as well
