Side note, swinging these today - with zero range time - the 945's went GIR on 5/6 shots. PW, 8, 6, 9 and 7 all found their target. If only the putter hadn't been cold....
The reason I write this is to show why I feel like there is some forgiveness in these beauties!

That is good to hear to have a reasonable level of forgiveness in an iron looks that good. I'm looking forward to following along with your updates.

Yup. I mean they are still blades. BUT, if you are a blade player or a players iron ball striker, you shouldn't be intimidated by these.

You win THP today and probably for the next few days. You are my hero Tim and I am jealous in a good way. These irons are beyond words to use. Can't wait to hear about your journey and if you think they will be permanent.

How much thinner are the soles on these vs the 545 and 745 Tim?

Wow, is pretty much the only words that come to mind here. visually stunning , these by far are the prettiest looking sticks I have seen, puts my 745 to shame. If my game was better these would be in my bag for a longgggg time

J/K they are beautiful. I have had a couple of swings with one and they are very nice, I didn't hit them perfect but that had something to do with the setup. I still cant believe we get them here in NZ and you don't in the USA.

Substantially thinner than the 545, somewhat thinner than the 745. It looks like a logical progression. It isn't drastic, but it's definitely noticeable.

not to start a crap storm in this thread. But when I look at these and and a couple other lines I see similarities to other OEM's. It's not a bad thing, just an observation of my initial reaction.
 
Those irons look amazing.

I'm not sure that I have the game for them, though.

I agree. It's never bothered me though- with irons at least. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! I would argue that the perimeter back is quite different from the set you are referring too. It is unique when in hand. But I know it looks the same initially.

More thoughts: ball flight was phenomenal. I paired the head with my standard Project X 6.5 and really loved what I saw.

I do like the look of these but there is no way I am playing them at my level so I will stick with my Z545 instead :D

I honestly can't remember as I didn't take much notice, but I think the club where I got my Z545 irons from did have a Z945 on display as well so when I go back to pick up the 4i I have got on order I will have another look
