Your surprise club for 2017

Apex 3h and 4h. I didn't realize how much of a game changer these would be for me. Confidence from 215-235 is an awesome thing.

Ping Sigma Kushin - wasn't expecting it to perform as well as it has so far

From the list that includes
Apex 3h and 4h
Epic SZ driver and 3w

Hands down the epic sz 3w. My previous m1 3w would never come out of my bag, thats if I even brought it out that day. The SZ has been so easy to hit. Matched with the driver I have the confidence hit off the deck and reach par 5s in two. I managed to hit an eagle with it a couple weeks ago. It has become my most confident club in the bag at the moment.

Going to the 2016 M1. A little hotmelt made so much difference in sound/feel.

I know it's not a new release but the SeeMore Si3 has been terrific for my game.

Forgot one...Srixon U65's. never used to be a fan of utility irons, but they are just silly good.

Wilson Triton driver it's that good when fitted with someone who knows his shish

Cleveland Smart Sole S, best wedge I've ever played. Turned me into a short game master!

Like many other satisfied owners, the Epic driver for me is a game changer. I'm seeing landing areas off the tee that I've never seen before in the 6+ years I've been at my home course. I drove one yesterday 305 yards through a dogleg under a big oak tree that has never been a factor before unless I had a substantial wind at my back. It has really turned my home course into a par 70 rather than a par 72. Three of my last 7 rounds have been in the 60's and this is far from normal - I have not had more than 4 rounds in the 60's in one year since my oldest was born almost 20 years ago.

Bridgestone XD-7 driver. I was expecting to enjoy the irons but I am shocked by how good the driver is. Checking all the boxes for me with looks, performance, and sound.

My Bettinardi putter. Never played a Betti before this year so wasn't sure what to expect, I'm a believer now!

The Tour Exotics EX 10 Beta 15* 3W. This club is a beast

TEE EX10 Beta 3W and it isn't close.

I'm anxiously waiting for my 13* Beta to arrive with the Rogue 70 I/O. This along with the Epic makes me 20 years younger off the tee.:bananadance:

My Xenon putter, I knew it would look pretty but it also just works and puts a great roll on the ball

Surprise for me has been my Byron DH89.
I've never had a putter that makes me this comfortable rolling the rock and I've never putted this well in my life.

For me without a doubt is the new Maltby Pure-Trac Blade putter. Right from the get go the feel and balance is spot on. I have sunk a ton of early season putts that last year were not even close. Confidence has been through the roof which has always been a weak part of my game. Quite frankly I expect to knock in everything inside of 12 feet lately.

The sure out wedge is the biggest surprise for me, I figured it would be good, I did not realize just how good it would be. It's my favorite club in the bag.

While the RTX3 are good I won't say I was surprised simply due to all the positive feedback they got here prior to me picking them up. That said I have two that come to mind:

The 917 Fairway from Titleist is an excellent stick with look/feel/sound matching its performance. Probably the best of the very good 917 releases.

The Ping Sigma putters. Surprisingly good roll and feel from these. Plus I am a big fan of their stock grip offering. Probably the only stock putter grip out there I would want to game.
So hitting my 917f2 was a good surprise? The bigger surprise is that you haven't bought it yet...

I'm usually playing with someone that already has one. I just borrow theirs

I have to post 3 big surprises for me.

EPIC SZ DRIVER: I "upgrade" my driver pretty consistently. I can safely say that I have not had an upgrade experience that has been this dramatic and noticeable. Fantastic technology that makes a significant difference.

COBRA F7 5-6W: I went from a hybrid to a 5W. The concern was hitting the 5W out of the rough or tight lies...no worries! The baffler rails make it an easy club to game...it flys a reliable 240yds and I can even hit a steep punch out of nasty stuff that will go 200+...what a club!

Odyssey O-works putter: I wasn't in the market for a putter, but the micro-hinge insert and the versa paint has me putting with a new confidence! I have made some crazy puts during this early part of the season. I am looking forward to see how the rest of the year goes, especially once the greens are totally healed.

Fantastic times to be a golfer!

G400 hybrids. I’m not sure a thread on them even exist on THP. With the well deserved attention the G400 driver received, I thought these would have garnered more attention. Tried it out in my local golf store and bought the 3h and 4h without consulting THP. They’ve been very consistent and straight for me which has helped eat up some yardage and put me in the middle of fairways off the tee.

Also the only club to produce a shot that got applause and a compliment from two different groups on two different holes on the same day. One group even threw in a Wow as the ball was in the air.

Oops, resurrected this one from the search screen. My bad.

Mizuno JPX 900 Driver. Never known for their metal woods but this driver is very solid and looks damn good as well.

F7 3 wood. It's a beast.
CBX 58*. Instantly kicked out my sure out wedge. Much more versatile.
