I want to play Torrey Pines, any advice, tips to get on as a single?

[FONT=&quot]I'm heading to a conference in June in Temecula (approx 1 hour) from Torrey Pines. Conference ends Wednesday at 1pm, and hope to be able to get to Torrey Pines by 3pm, twilight starts at 330pm. Anyone have any advice to get on as a single. I prefer to play the South, but not opposed to the playing the north. TIA

at that time, the prime twilight spots will be taken by people who put their name on the list earlier in the day. You will be able to get out but probably not finish. Usually have to be in the first 2 twilight groups to finish.
 
My buddy and I went out in the afternoon a couple years ago and got on within an hour. As a single, I'd say you stand an even better chance. Of course YMMV, but it doesn't hurt to try. As far as advice is concerned, there is none, other than show up to the starter booth and sign up. Going there during the week should help.
