Anyone here metal detect? I am just getting into it after borrowing a friends detector, actually had allot of fun.

I do not do it, but I always wondered if those guys ever found anything valuable.

My dad used to metal detect when I was kid and I'd go with him. Never really found anything of extreme value when I was with him, but every once in a while you'd pin point on something that seemed like a good hit. Definitely get a rush when you start digging for your treasure!

He would go out on an annual trip to Las Vegas with a friend and they'd rent a utility vehicle and drive into the desert and metal detect out there. I remember one time he came back with a piece of silver that he equated to a worth of about $700.
