New video game "The Golf Club"

Skytrack looks cool. I just started playing a couple of days ago and am enjoying it so far. Simple but not really. The only problem I have is gauging lay up shots. Is there a way to get other distance other than to the flag?

The X1 update borked the game!!! I'm a left stick swinger and they freaking broke it! Really? Not one tester thought to swing with the left stick during QC?

I think the new update fixed that. I swing with the right stick so nothing changed for me. Weird you basically have to re-download the game for that fix.

Yea I hit the HOME button last night to go to an app and saw that it was downloading. Someone told me ALL the updates are full downloads. 3.x gigs. But it was pretty fast. And maybe also just XB. I can't believe that game is < 4 GB tho.

I'm a happy golfer again, well, sim golfer. Although I still can't putt in the game.

Boulder Mountain State Park.
Spent forever on it and it still doesn't compete with what some of these guys are doing. Sigh.

I will play this tonight!

Played it tonight. Enjoyed it, I did. Scored well even tho I had about 5 birdie putts come up short. It has a nice mixture of elevation change and length and tight shots. Nicely done!

Now you all have to play my creation (named after my newly adopted pup)

Luna's Landing

Let me know what ya think.

Enjoyed Boulder Mountain. Shot -7 to fall 1 short of tpluff. I gave away a few shots here and there but liked the course.

I'll give Luna's Landing a run tonight as well while I putt off putting away laundry.

Finished Luna's Landing and enjoyed that as well. First thing that came to my mind when trying to describe the course was "creative." There were several holes with really flat greens, others that were super flat around the hole but you had to hit the green in the right spot to have a flat putt, and others that had crazy slope to them (not unfair mind you, just have to play your shots to the proper location.

Does anyone know if all these courses can be played via simulation hardware?

I'm glad you noticed that. Typically if it's a hard green, it's a shorter shot designed into the hole and the tee shot was easier. I don't like making hard tee, hard approach, hard green all in one. Glad you enjoyed it and hope you return :)

Anyone have this game for Xbox and Rory McIlroy PGA Tour? Which one is better?

I don't think it matter what platform the game is on really, but the answer is it depends on what you want in the game. Arcade style with the pros that is pretty fun? Rory. True golf sim with endless user generated content that is also fun? TGC. Why not get both?

There have been comparisons done in the thread.. They are both good games in my mind just totally different games
Aside from both being golf games, they really don't have a whole lot in common when you get into them. Which is great because we don't want 2 of the same game.

One thing I really like about TGC is that it's just golf plain and simple. I can start a round and just play golf. It's different from any other golf game that I ever have played. Seems as if the development team stays on top of things. Side note I met Canadan once at a THP event in Atlanta and I always picture him when the Comentator talks.

we had an Xbox brought into work. Even though this game was fun, the player swings look so out of place. Can't wait for a game that has swings that actually match up to the golf lie you have. Still a good game, but the swings really throw a wrench in it for me

Aren't you a mill worker? Someone brought an xbox in? Lol

Yep, we have it pretty good at times . On off days it can be like a big party in there . Grilling / movies / go to the casino next door /. Whatever you want

Man, your obsession with how a golf swing looks ruins just about everything golf related for you

I will hit it up here in a few. Trying to find a stopping point in the Legacy coverage. Yeah right.

Enjoyed your course, Toad!
I tried to make Boulder very much a risk/reward course. You probably saw 1/2 the holes have a couple ways to play it out, and the quality risk shot will definitely reward you. Right from the first hole, you can hit it like 170 to the beginning of the fairway, or go over the trees to a point just in front of the right side bunker.
Give her another run or two and you'll see how you can really go after a low score.

Pretty sure you can play them all on ProTee now. I think I remember reading that some of them were a little difficult on a SiM though, due to being too long.
