Lodge room. $150/4 people....but I have a feeling it would be a bit tight...
Yeah I think we usually go 2 per room which is why I got confused.

Let's not mince words, here, you'd offer to sleep on the floor if it would save you a few bucks. :D

Are you implying that the Prince chooses to live like a Pauper?

I say let them eat cake. People can fend for themselves. This is Iowa 2016. Only the best for those brave enough to attend.

I can't comment on the expense of lodging at the Harvester. I think we'll know more about that when we know how many come. That said, I'm not sure there is other lodging 'up the road.' The course is sort of in the middle of nowhere, and I wouldn't wish staying in Marshalltown on anyone.

Well, for me I'm thinking if we end up at the Harvester...I'd be fine with a hotel near/in Des Moines. Were talking about a half hour drive to the course. Plus, if were going to be doing anything in the evening, it's going to be in Des Moines anyway, right? So, saving some money on a hotel and then driving a half hour, isn't that bad in my book. Heck, I drive 15 minutes to work 6 days a week, and they pay me! We've ALL driven HOURS to play golf in a day!

Just my take.

Altoona would be the next closest. The problem there is hotel rates that close to Adventureland.

We could always stay at the adventureland inn and have a pool party as well. Or prarie medows and bet on the ponies. That could be a fun night.

I was thinking that Prairie Meadows surely does not jack up their hotel rates in the summer. Doesn't a Casino keep their rates low to convince you to stay there (since they want you to gamble late)?

What about the house??? Might be interesting!!!
House (3,800 sf, sleeps 18): $1,200 per night, 2-night minimum (regularly $1,800 per night)

it'd be like a frat party, and i'm not paying the deposit on that one.

I hear ya, here's what I got from Harvester a while back:
So with a group of 16 staying and playing sometime around August the price for golf would be as follows:

Thu, Fri or Sat 18 Holes: $99/player (cart fee and range balls included)

Sunday 18 Holes: $79/ player (cart fee and range balls included)

All Day Play: $60/player add on to 18 hole price (Ex. Thu, Fri or Sat All Day Play: $99+$60=$159/player)

The 2 lodging accommodations you would have to choose between would be renting our Lodge Rooms or renting our Carver House. With a group of 16 both the lodge and house are the same price at $2,400+tax or individually $150/person total. We do require a 2 night minimum stay, however the 3rd and 4th nights are free, the lodging price I have given you is for the total for both nights. ($1,200/night) Here is a short description of the layouts of the Lodge Rooms and Carver House.

Lodge Rooms
The Lodge is a 2 story building located off of Hole #2 and located directly next to our outdoor pool and patio. It has 9 total rooms, each room is a hotel style layout; 2 Queen size beds, bathroom, TV, dresser and balcony. A few steps away from the Lodge room we are in the process of building a Card room or "Lounge Area" for our Lodge guests to have a place to get together after dinner at the clubhouse and watch your favorite sporting event on the big screen, play some cards at the card tables and enjoy a few beverages. Along with being a place to get together at night, we will be serving our Lodge guests a morning brunch of their choice at the Card Room. (1 Lodge Room: $150/night)

Carver House
The Carver House is a recently remodeled home located off Hole #4, it's wrap around deck is great for groups looking to come in after their round and put their grilled meat of choice on the gas grill. It has a total of 16 beds (mixture of twin and individual beds), 2 pullout couches, two 60" HDTV's with DirecTV, large back yard for lawn games, 2 car garage and a full kitchen to store all snacks, meals and drinks. (Carver House: $1,200/night)

There may or may not be a planning meeting, say like, maybe this Thursday. Last minute suggestions, comments, etc., are welcome.

I'm open for whatever goes on. It is always a good time. If you need anything for me since I'm an Iowa resident now just let me know.

Is it Iowa time yet

Here is the latest and greatest on Iowa 2016. We are still working on a date. This is due to wanting to include as many as possible. Plus Not wanting to conflict with other long established events. Below you will find 3 options. We would like everyone to vote on their preferred option.

Dates: TBD

Format: Ryder Cup

Saturday AM - Alternate shot
Saturday PM - Best Ball
Sunday - Scramble

Option #1 - 36 holes on Saturday at The Legacy in Norwalk
18 holes on Sunday at The Harvester
Lodging in Altoona

Option #2 - 18 Holes on Saturday at The Legacy
18 Holes on Saturday at Otter Creek
18 Holes on Sunday at The Harvester
Lodging in Ankeny

Option #3 - 36 Holes on Saturday at the Harvester
18 Holes on Sunday at The Harvester
Lodging at The Harvester

Most likely timeframe for this will be Late June to Mid July.

I honestly don't care where we play or stay. I'm just hoping the dates will work out for me.

Cmon everyone! Comment and let us know. Wedge and I had an arduous meeting to get this far! And Wedge took time off from his 4 week vacation to plan this. #HardLife
