COBRA GOLF’S KING FAMILY TO INCLUDE ALL NEW KING F6 IRONS

The Ultimate Progressive Set Designed To Deliver Soft Feel and Consistency Combined with Distance and Precision

Carlsbad, Calif. (November 17, 2015) – COBRA Golf, a leader in golf club innovation and technology, today introduces KING F6 irons, which are individually optimized for performance, providing golfers with distance, control, forgiveness and a soft feel on every shot.

The KING F6 irons reinvent set construction giving golfers the ultimate progressive set, engineered with COBRA’s new TECFLO system. The TECFLO system (Technology Enhanced Cavity Feel Launch Optimization) is the combination of multiple technologies and advanced constructions creating a progressive iron set designed to optimize the performance of every iron.

In order to achieve optimal performance on shots, the F6 iron set is engineered with four different iron constructions. Long irons (3i-5i) are comprised of a full hollow construction, mid irons (6i-7i) are half hollow construction and the short irons (8i-PW) feature a deep undercut cavity-back design, while the wedges (GW-SW) feature a specialty muscle back shape and tour contoured sole.

“In designing the KING F6 irons, we are answering the different needs of golfers. You shouldn’t have to choose between distance, forgiveness, feel or accuracy…you can have it all,” notes Jose Miraflor, Director of Product Marketing at COBRA Golf. “We are providing long irons that fly high, long and straight; mid-irons for consistency and accuracy; short irons provide trajectory and spin control that helps you hit it closer to the pin; and specialty wedges for versatility around the green.”

With the new TECFLO construction techniques and the integration of T.O.P. technology, a propriety COBRA technology that removes up to 10-grams of weight from above the hitting zone, engineers were able to lower the center of gravity (CG) on all of the irons to improve feel and performance. While on the wedges, engineers were able to raise the CG to help control trajectories. The F6 irons also use a Speed Channel strategically positioned on the sole near the leading edge of the clubface, to deliver more ball speed and increase launch angles giving golfers the trajectory they want and the distance they desire.
Within the set, the KING F6 irons feature 100% milled faces and grooves and Progressive Spin Technology (PST). PST features V grooves on the long-irons, U grooves on the mid- and short- irons, and wedge grooves on the SW and GW to deliver maximum distance, tighter dispersion and controlled trajectories, which all equal optimized performance. Additionally, COBRA engineered Flighted Technology in the family of shafts to deliver greater carry and more distance on the mid and long irons while supporting precision and control on the short irons and wedges.

The KING F6 eight-piece progressive iron set in RH or LH will be available January 15, 2016 with a MSRP of $799 (steel), and the combo sets featuring two KING F6 adjustable hybrids and six irons, available in steel ($899) and graphite ($999).
Also in store Jan. 15, the KING F6 Irons are available in RH/LH for women in Silver with Ultramarine Blue and Raspberry. The irons feature a graphite Matrix Red Tie Q4 shaft and a Cobra Winn Wrap. The stock set ($899) is comprised of six irons (7-SW) and two KING F6 Hybrids (4-5H and 5-6H).

Interesting technology packed into these puppies. I'd like to see more pics of the full set, I like the "combo" set feature in the different construction of the long vs short irons and that hybrid addition sounds quite intruiging as well, I don't imagine ever buying a hybrid iron set but for some reason I want to see this one.

Thanks for the info!

We will have full in hand pictures coming soon. Some really interesting technology packed into these.

Combo sets aren't anything new, but they're definitely the right way to do sets.

These remind me a lot of the Speedblades, but with full/half cavity instead of the slot on the bottom or not. Those had a similar composition--I think TM took out the slot on the 8i, and the wedges were muscle backs.

interesting peice of gear, I am not sold on the looks, but will wait for in hand pics before making a judgment there.

red tie shafts in irons? that is the main thing I picked up from that

Awesome! I am quite intrigued and look forward to seeing more and eventually demoing these babies!

Lots of tech. Looks are certainly cleaner than past Cobra irons or not as busy.

Clean and I love the progressive makeup of the set. Just re-read about the cavity and sole changing throughout the set and it's so damn intriguing.

Nice looking clubs for sure. I like the different tech on the each irons. V shaped grooves on long irons and u shaped grooves on mid irons. Makes a lot of sense.

Good looking iron. The tech and flow of the set is nice. I like what cobra is doing.

These may be my new irons in 2016.... can't wait to give these a test. Curious to see what the stock shaft is in these. 2015 models had FST i think.

A lot of tech packed into these and aesthetically they hit the mark. Interested to see the in hand pictures and more importantly how they perform.

Liking the looks of these, and I really like how companies are putting more thought into the way the clubs are designed to aid in specific areas as you go through the bag.

Definitely looking forward to in hand pics of these.

Oh My! Nice.

i love the idea of a progressive set (i'm pretty sure the j15 df has some of that kind of tech as well). what i have found is it can be difficult to manage gapping when going with a progressive set, so i'll be curious to see how these handle it. i'm a little concerned about the top line, would like to see them in person. one of the best things i read above: a set gap wedge! huzzah!

Interesting tech, thanks for the info!!

I am EXTREMELY intrigued by these.

I'd like to hit these before I make up my mind. Design/looks are middle of the line for me.

FST is the stock steel shaft.

I'm curious where these will fall in the iron lineup for Cobra considering the amount of cavity back in them... Are they reducing the number of irons in 2016 to just these and the King Ltd option (with the max lineup for Game improvement)? I think in 2015 they had Fly-z, Fly-z plus, fly-z forged and fly-z pro if i'm not correct. Alot of different looking irons across those 4 lines.

FST is the stock steel shaft.
Not the correct place for this question (i don't think) but since FST is the company that makes KBS shafts, are they similar? Obviously KBS tweaks to their specifications. Is it the FST version of the "tour" model or something of the like?

Nice looking irons at a reasonable price point. I'm a big fan of combo/flow iron sets and will defidently give these a try when available. The Really cool and innovative tech in these intrigues me a lot as well.

Are these marketed towards a certain "cap" range?

looks liek these are the GI/SGI option

Agreed, unless they're holding onto an F6 XL line, I think these would be that category. Seems like the makeup of this set (plus having the combo available) would make it an option for a lot of different handicaps.
